SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Governor Gavin Newsom said Friday that more than 670,000 doses of the new Moderna vaccine could be in the state as early as next week. "Someone may have the need for emergency surgery. All of these things don't go away just because we are in the middle of a pandemic."Dr. Olulade says while the Moderna vaccine rollout will undoubtedly help slow the surge, it is not the end-all-be-all."The vaccine is not going to help someone that is in the ICU now," Dr. Olulade explained. "It's really possibly not going to help for the next few months. It does take a while before you achieve herd immunity or when enough people have gotten the vaccine, and that could be several months."That is why, in the meantime, she believes it is vital that we continue to do our part in protecting ourselves and others."If past events are predictors of the future, then we can see that the upcoming holidays are a very risky time because we tend to see these numbers go up drastically after holiday celebrations," Dr. Olulade said. "This is just the end of the beginning of the pandemic. The vaccine is not going to bring this to a quick end. We are still going to have to wear masks, [and] we are still going to have to distance. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Employees at a Little Caesars franchise location in Logan Heights say their paychecks are bouncing and management is not responding to their concerns. The workers say the problems started in March, and they told 10News they've received paychecks, only to have them bounce a few days later and racking up banking fees every time. The employees 10News spoke to, from the National Avenue location, did not want to be identified. When they spoke out to supervisors, the employees claimed they were told to not to bother upper management. Other times, they said, they were left in the dark with no response. Employees identified the owner as Tony Bith, saying he owns at least a dozen Little Caesars locations throughout San Diego County. The one in Barrio Logan on Main Street is also closed; the National City Location on Plaza Boulevard is still open. 10News tried to reach Bith by phone but did not hear back as of the publication of this story. 10News also attempted to make contact with him at his home address, but could not access him because he lives in a gated community. 10News reached out to Little Caesars corporate to find out if they were aware of what was going on and they sent the following statement: 1243

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Del Mar may be the county's smallest city, but it has no shortage of workers commuting in every day to serve its residents and tourists.They're coming from as far away as Oceanside, La mesa, and Rancho Penasquitos. It's because the city - with a median home price of .7 million - has no affordable housing. "If they could live here and walk to work we'd get all kinds of benefits from that," said Del Mar Mayor Dwight Worden. To help make that happen, Del Mar may start charging developers of condos and condo conversions fees by the square foot. That could add to more than a hundred thousand dollars per project for affordable housing. Right now developers of those projects pay a flat fee of ,500, which hasn't been updated since 2007.The city council is considering a per square foot charge for existing construction and per square foot for new construction.The money would either go to expanding Del Mar's rent subsidy program, which currently assists five families in the city.Worden, however, said he prefers physical units because they are there forever. Daniel Dorado is testifying in his defense.Eight women have come forward saying Dorado drugged and sexually assaulted them over the course of a decade. The owner of the Voce del Mar restaurant in Birdrock faces 35 felony charges for allegedly raping women after drugging their drinks. "She was interested in being alone with me," said Dorado. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Homicide detectives are investigating after a man died in Hillcrest early Sunday morning. According to Lieutenant Anthony Dupree, a passerby was walking near Albert Street and Upas Street around 5:30 a.m. when he saw a man with trauma to his body and called police. The passerby performed life-saving efforts on the man before paramedics arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Dupree said. According to police, the man was between the ages of 25 and 30, but his identity is unknown at this time. Dupree said detectives are going door-to-door in the area to find out if anyone heard anything. 635
