BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Premier Li Keqiang on Monday called on the Chinese diaspora to contribute to the country's economic growth.

Acknowledging what Zhejiang has achieved over the years, Xi said building a good society should start with safeguarding and improving people's livelihood. "We must do what the masses want us to do," he said.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The Flying Tigers, officially known as the American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, were formed in 1941 and led by U.S. General Claire Lee Chennault to help China drive out invading Japanese troops.

Representatives of the summit voiced concern over global challenges, including improving global governance, pushing forward poverty reduction and combating climate change.

"We urge resolute opposition to any distortion of WWII results ... as well as any attempt to forget the tragic lesson for all mankind," leaders of the SCO countries, namely China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, said in a statement after holding a summit in the Russian city of Ufa.
