LITTLE LAKE, Calif. (KGTV) — A 5.0-magnitude earthquake was reported just outside Ridgecrest, Calif., Thursday.The quake struck about 25 miles north of Ridgecrest, Calif., just before 2 p.m. The earthquake had a depth of about one and a half miles deep, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.According to the USGS' "Did You Feel It?" map, shaking could be felt from as far away as San Diego and Coronado. Responses were also reported from Las Vegas, Nev., the map showed.No injuries or damages to structures were immediately reported.Ridegcrest was hit by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake on July 5. Several aftershocks and earthquakes have been recorded in the region during the month following the massive shakeup. 720

LINDA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Police arrested a man after an hours-long standoff in Linda Vista Wednesday night. It happened in an apartment at the end of Via Las Cumbres, near Kelly Street. Police say they were there to serve an arrest warrant on a man suspected of illegally possessing a loaded firearm. Officers on scene repeatedly asked the man to exit the apartment over a megaphone, but he remained inside. Around 9 p.m., officers used a battering ram to break down the front door. They brought out the man in handcuffs and placed him in a patrol vehicle. Lt. Danny Grubbs said they had tried to arrest the man several times before but he was able to get away. In one of those attempts, Grubbs said the man led CHP on a chase through Mission Valley but ended up crashing his van into the San Diego River. He escaped through a drainage ditch, evading capture. The man’s identity was not released. 908

Now, they’re just one round away from the finals.“This is really special,” Gold said as he looks out over a packed house on a recent Thursday morning to watch the team practice.But it’s not even about their enormous and almost unrivaled success as a first year team.The Knights' very first home game ever took place just nine days after, and just down the street, from one of the most horrific mass shootings the country has ever seen. The city was in mourning. What this team represents is hope in the face of evil.“We were hurting as a community, and [these team members] were hurting as people,” Gold said. “All of a sudden none of that mattered. We were all in this together.”He can point to the exact moment he became a fan of the Golden Knights. It was during the opening ceremony at that first game, when emotions were still raw.
