The Dallas Police Department said on Tuesday evening that two of its officers and a civilian loss prevention officer were shot at a Dallas Home Depot. The Dallas Police confirmed earlier in the evening that the two officer were in critical condition. He is believed to have left the incident driving a white pickup truck. Around 9 p.m. local time, Juarez was arrested after a car pursuit involving Dallas Police and a white pickup truck.Hall said that Juarez will be charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, and also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The calendar is about to flip from April to May, and normally storm chasers are flooding Tornado Alley to get a glimpse at the power of Mother Nature. But so far in 2018, there has not been much to chase. According to the National Weather Service, the state of Oklahoma, which is in the heart of Tornado Alley, has gone the entire year so far without a single confirmed tornado touchdown. Not since before 1950 has Oklahoma gone the first four months without a single tornado touchdown. By the end of April, the state would have averaged 17 tornado touchdowns. Last year, 13 tornadoes had touched down by the end of April. In 2016, there were 27 touchdowns in the month of April alone. In 2012, there were 54 confirmed touchdowns in April. The state of Kansas has also gone the entire year without a tornado. According to National Weather Service data, the state averages 12 tornadoes in the month of April alone. "On the whole, across the United States, we have seen around half the number of eyewitnessed tornado reports that we would normally expect by this time of year," Dr. Patrick Marsh, a meteorologist at the Storm Prediction Center, told CNN. Meteorologists are blaming, or crediting, a jet stream pattern that has sent big snow storms into the Upper Midwest for the decreased number of tornadoes. The pattern has prevented warm moist air from setting up in the Plains, which has cut off any fuel for potential tornadoes. According to the Storm Prediction Center, the upcoming weekend appears to void of any major severe weather outbreaks. The government is looking into getting rid of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security at dozens of smaller airports across the country.According to reports, the TSA is considering getting rid of security screenings at more than 150 small and medium-sized airports that operate commercial flights, with no more than 60 passengers.The TSA estimates the move would save 5 million, which could then be used to enhance security at busier, larger airports. 475

Leading officials are calling the test a “game-changer.”The SalivaDirect test is said to be both rapid in its findings, and inexpensive. Yale said it doesn’t hope to commercialize the test, rather increase the country’s testing capabilities.“Widespread testing is critical for our control efforts. We simplified the test so that it only costs a couple of dollars for reagents, and we expect that labs will only charge about per sample. If cheap alternatives like SalivaDirect can be implemented across the country, we may finally get a handle on this pandemic, even before a vaccine,” said Nathan Grubaugh, a scientist with Yale Public Health.Yale scientists say that the nasal samples are less invasive than swabbing, but are equally as accurate.“This is a huge step forward to make testing more accessible,” said Chantal Vogels, a Yale postdoctoral fellow. “This started off as an idea in our lab soon after we found saliva to be a promising sample type of the detection of SARS-CoV-2, and now it has the potential to be used on a large scale to help protect public health.
