A Norwalk, Ohio man and Sunday school teacher is facing charges after having inappropriate sexual contact with a child in a church basement.Kenneth Rose is charged with gross sexual imposition of a child. He was the children's director at Milan Friends Church in Milan Township and had been volunteering there for six months.Rose is being held without bond while the Erie County Sheriff's Office investigates what exactly went on inside the church and if more than one child was involved.Two alleged incidents were reported by one child who was in his program. The girl said both incidents happened while her parents were in regular church service. One happened on Feb. 25, the other on March 18. "There was inappropriate sexual contact, so there was touching involved," Detective Sergeant Dennis Papineau with the Erie County Sheriff's Department said. He said the young girl went to her father and told him what her Sunday school teacher did to her."There was spanking involved," Detective Sergeant Papineau said. It happened in the church's basement, when no other kids were around."When this actually occurred, they were by themselves."Rose admitted guilt to investigators immediately. "He was cooperative with the investigation."Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland talked to the pastor of the church, Paul Campbell, on the phone. He didn't want to go on camera, but said the church is cooperating with investigators and trying to be as transparent as possible. Pastor Campbell said Rose never should have been with children alone, and they still aren't sure how this happened. Campbell said there were no other incidents reported to them. Rose is not listed as a sex offender and does not have a criminal history. Campbell said they're already talking about what they can do to make sure this never happens again. "This is an active investigation, and if there are any other victims we are asking them to come forward," Detective Sergeant Papineau said. 2084

(KGTV) — Homicide detectives were investigating after a woman was shot and killed in a quiet Alpine neighborhood on Saturday.Around 2 p.m., a resident heard a scream and called 911.San Diego Sheriff's deputies found a woman's body lying halfway out of the passenger seat of a car in front of a neighbor’s driveway in the 3000 block of North Victoria Drive.Deputies detained a man on foot about a half mile away with two hand guns, said Lt. Rich Williams, San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Unit."The suspect in this case has been identified as forty-two-year-old Paul Paraschak of Alpine," said Williams.Paraschak has been arrested for one count of murder and booked into the San Diego Central Jail, where he is being held without bail. About 60 percent of restaurants that had to close during the pandemic are now permanently closed, according to review site Yelp.Across industries, Yelp reports that 132,580 businesses that were listed as “open” on March 1 are now marked “closed”, and roughly 55 percent of those closures are permanent. Those percentages translate to 72,842 businesses permanently closed as of July 10 that were open in March, and more than 15,700 of those are restaurants.Las Vegas is suffering from the highest rate of closed businesses, with 861 that are now permanently closed. Las Vegas has seen a huge decrease in tourism, and according to Yelp, this accounts for the spike in closures.The rate of permanent closures has increased since April as the coronavirus pandemic spreads and businesses of all kinds are forced to close or adjust how they interact with customers, sometimes resulting in fewer sales. Yelp reports that the number of total closures, though, has fluctuated as states reopen and close down again based on outbreaks.However, some businesses are seeing far fewer permanent closures. These include professional services like lawyers, accountants, web design and tutors or educators. Actor Stoney Westmoreland has been dropped from his recurring role on the Disney Channel show "Andi Mack" after being arrested by police in Salt Lake City, according to a Disney Channel statement.A probable cause affidavit states Westmoreland, 48, used a dating app to chat with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old boy. The affidavit goes on to state the actor used the app to send explicit pictures and to arrange a meeting for sex.When Westmoreland arrived at the arranged spot, he was arrested by Salt Lake City Police and members of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force.
