SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A female sea lion Monday wandered onto the streets of Point Loma, prompting spectators to gather and springing a rescue team into action.According to a passerby, the sea lion was spotted in the middle of Garrison Street around 4 p.m.According to crews, the sea lion would’ve had to cross Rosecrans Street to get to Garrison. Rescuers from SeaWorld responded to the scene, adding that the sea lion appears health and at a normal body weight, but they’ll need to further examine her to learn more.SeaWorld also said it’s unusual for a sea lion to wander that far away from the bay, but the animals have been found on porches, inside hotels and on driveways. 683

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego State University football team announced Friday it has added a game against the Brigham Young University Cougars in December to complete its shortened schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The team initially received its schedule from the Mountain West Conference Thursday with a "TBA" game on Dec. 12. That game will now be played against BYU in Provo, Utah.It will be the second straight season that SDSU ends its regular season with the Cougars. Last year on Nov. 30, San Diego State defeated BYU, 13- 3, in what ended up being the Aztecs' final football game at SDCCU Stadium to snap a six-game losing streak in the series and improve to 8-21-1 all-time against Brigham Young.The BYU game will be the sole non-conference game for the Aztecs, excepting any possible post-season play.San Diego State opens its season at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, against UNLV on Oct. 24. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two additional suspects were arrested today in connection with a shooting that left a 20-year old man mortally wounded in a Bay Terraces-area neighborhood 16 months ago.Ethan Leland Apan, 28, and Kevin Herrera, 26, were jailed this afternoon on suspicion of taking part in the slaying of Joaquin Ruiz of San Diego, according to police.Another suspect, 26-year-old John Orozco, was taken into custody last Wednesday on suspicion of murder in the case, Lt. Andra Brown said Shortly after midnight on July 13, 2019, patrol officers responding to a report of a possible traffic accident found Ruiz unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body in a vehicle alongside the roadway in the 7000 block of Paradise Valley Road.Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not disclosed what led investigators to identify Apan, Herrera and Orozco as suspects in the case and have revealed no suspected motive for the slaying.``The District Attorney's Office is currently reviewing this case, which is still an ongoing investigation,'' Brown said. ``We will not be making any further comments or providing additional information at this time.'' 1216

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Three people suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds this morning in the Mount Hope Community of San Diego, a police officer said.A group of people were in the area of Market and Denby streets about 1:45 a.m. when several gunshots were heard and three people were shot, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.A 39-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times in the buttocks and legs and a 30-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his lips, Heims said.All three men were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds and police had no suspect information.
