SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 21-year-old North County man was stabbed early Saturday morning during an argument with three males over loud music, San Diego Police Department officials said.The stabbing was reported at 12:23 a.m. in the 14200 block of Cuca Street in Rancho Penasquitos, about a block away from Los Penasquitos Elementary School.Police said the man was stabbed in the right forearm during the argument. The victim's relatives transported him to a nearby hospital.The three suspects jumped into a dark vehicle and fled in an unknown direction, according to police.There is no further suspect information. 621

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A former Camp Pendleton Marine was sentenced Monday to more than 17 years in prison for owning and distributing child pornography.William Walsh IV, 55, was arrested in May 2017. Escondido Police officers searched his home and seized hundreds of files Walsh had downloaded through peer-to-peer file sharing software.A jury found Walsh guilty of all charges. U.S. District Judge Anthony J. Battaglia said Walsh’s conduct was “on the extreme end of the cases I have seen.”“Today a man who committed terrible crimes against children was sentenced to many years in prison,” said U.S. Attorney Adam Braverman. “These horrible experiences will echo in the hearts and minds of young victims for a lifetime, and I am deeply distressed and deeply committed to pursuing cases that will protect our vulnerable youth from people like Walsh.”“Today’s sentence confirms that this predator can no longer victimize innocent children because he is off the streets and he is offline,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge John Brown. “This investigation showcases the success of collaborative federal and local investigations working toward a common goal.”Walsh will serve his sentence in federal prison. 1208

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Good Samaritan discovered a cat and her 11 kittens inside a downtown dumpster San Diego recently.The San Diego Humane Society said it's now caring for the cat and her kittens, which is a rare size for any litter.“A healthy litter this size is incredibly uncommon and certainly not something we see every day in the nursery,” said Jackie Noble, SDHS kitten nursery manager.RELATED: East County woman loses hundreds of dollars in pet scamThe Good Samaritan told SDHS it didn't appear the cat was dumped there and may have been using the dumpster as a safe place to hide and care for her kittens.SDHS said the animals are all in good health. The animals will remain there until the kittens are ready to be put up for adoption and the mother is spayed."As cute as the kittens are, a litter this large highlights the importance of spaying and neutering. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 25-year-old was arrested Wednesday following an officer-involved shooting sparked by a chase late Saturday night. According to police, Alfonso Flores, 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, one count of evading and one count of possession of a stolen vehicle. Officers tried to pull over a Ford F-150 that was reported stolen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 1900 block of Dairy Mart Road.Police say the driver didn’t stop, instead driving into a cul-de-sac, making a u-turn and driving toward officers.RELATED: Chase leads to officer-involved shooting in Imperial Beach“Believing his partner was going to be run over, one officer fired his service weapon to defend the other officer,” police said in a news release.At some point during the pursuit, police say Flores threw a handgun out of the truck.RELATED: One shot, killed at Linda Vista recreation centerThe suspect eventually stopped on the 1200 block of Holly Avenue in Imperial Beach and ran away from the scene with a female passenger.Police say the officer who fired at the suspect is a three-year veteran of the department. On Monday morning, he got a call from his roommate, who had also been out of town, telling him the grates on the outside of the granny flat had been damaged.     Inside the house, there was one disturbing discovery after another.    "There was a trail of dirt in the shower. They had urinated on the toilet. He also found shoes and some sweatpants in his hamper that didn't belong to him. Sheets were pulled down and the pillows rearranged and stacked ... realized they were sleeping in my bed ... a creepy feeling of violation," said Yogerst.The intruders in this twisted Goldilocks tale: A homeless couple in their 20s. Neighbors spotted them in the driveway on Sunday. Yogerst says they found his hidden spare key and walked right in."It was like a Holiday Inn. They were enjoying their stay," said Yogerst.Yogerst says the presence of homeless in the area has increased in the past two years."Some of the churches, God bless them, do feed them, but that does bring them in," said Yogerst.Yogerst says only a few items were taken, including loose change, toiletries, and prescription medication. One of the suspects has a distinct description: A transient African-American woman, about 5-foot 5-inches tall, with bright orange hair.
