(KGTV) -- A rope is being blamed for December’s weeklong boil water advisory in Poway, according to a newly-released report.The report says a surge in storm water caused a backflow in the system. A rope stuck inside a gate designed to keep water out of the reservoir allowed the storm water to seep into the area. As a result of the incident, the affected section of the reservoir had to be disinfected and refilled. RELATED: Inspection found 12 flaws in Poway's water delivery systemA boil water was issued November 30 and canceled December 6 as a result of the contamination. The advisory was issued after residents reported brownish water coming from their faucets on November 29. The report also goes into detail about what is being done as a result of the advisory. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Crews extinguished a brush fire that sparked in a riverbed near Poway Tuesday afternoon. The brush fire sparked around 1 p.m. near Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway. According to Cal Fire, the wind-driven fire burned about one acre in an area with heavy fuel. Two helicopters were ordered to the scene to fight the blaze. At this time, the cause is unknown. Homes were in the path of the blaze, but were never threatened. In all, firefighters from Poway, San Diego, Cal Fire and Santee fought the blaze. 539

(AP) — The mayor of Portland is demanding that President Donald Trump remove militarized federal agents he deployed to the city after some detained people on streets distant from federal property they were sent to protect. PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- A poor raccoon is expected to be OK after it got its head stuck in a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli. Officers with Charlotte County Animal Control in Florida took the raccoon to the Peace River Wildlife Center for help Monday after a resident found the animal in her backyard.The juvenile raccoon needed to be sedated so the can could be carefully clipped away and pulled off. He only had minor injuries. 444
