House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte has issued subpoenas for former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.Goodlatte, a Virginia Republican who is retiring, is requesting private depositions from Comey on December 3 and Lynch on December 4. It may be ‘I can see that this is really upsetting to you, can you tell me a little bit more about that?'”He said trying to understand, before attempting to be understood, is a good starting place. “Am I willing to consider their perspective, or am I in this to prove them wrong? Which in the end gets us nowhere in all of this, so I think those basic things are really important and critical.”If you know why someone’s habits are a certain way, it’s possible to compromise.“I know some people say compromise is a dirty word, in this case, I think compromise really gets at the fact that I’m wanting to meet someone or be a part of someone’s life the best I can," Stanfield said.If the social awkwardness persists, a ton of people is going to therapy to sort it out right now.“I sometimes equate therapy to taking your car in to get an oil change. Copley Foundation is funding a flood alert system monitored by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego The Resilient Futures program will create a flood alert system customized to the specific needs of Imperial Beach. A network of instruments to measure local wave and water level conditionsIt is something that people are concerned about and they want to know how often is this likely to occur as sea levels continue to rise,” said Mark Merrifield, the director of the Coastal Data Information Program at Scripps.Imperial Beach is one of the most vulnerable in California to sea-level rise as it experiences flooding during periods of extreme high tides and winter swell.The main data gathering buoy is 2-miles off the coast and already transmitting data back to scientists.Scientists say it is their intention to develop the program in IB and expand to other beach communities.  1148

In another sign of the times for retail, Lowe's is closing 51 North American stores.The home improvement chain said Monday that locations are underperforming and the decision will help the hardware chain focus on its most profitable stores and "improve the overall health of its store portfolio."Lowe's (LOW) is shutting down 20 stores in the U.S. and 31 in Canada. The company said that a "majority" of the shuttered stores are within 10 miles of another Lowe's location.The stores will be closed before Feb. 1, 2019. The company will try to find jobs at nearby stores for its employees affected by the closings."We believe our people are the foundation of our business and essential to our future growth," said CEO Marvin R. Ellison.Lowe's is struggling to keep up with its larger rival Home Depot. Ellison, who joined the company in May, has already made some big strategic decisions, including closing all of its Orchard Supply Hardware stores and slashing inventory at its Lowe's stores.The company cut its sales and profit outlook for the year.
