(CNN) -- The Bay Area has many murals, with images of everyone from Robin Williams to Nipsey Hussle gracing its buildings.Now, there's a new name to add to that list: Greta Thunberg.A mural of the Swedish teenage climate activist, whose movement has caught the attention of the world, is set to be completed next Tuesday.Located in downtown San Francisco near Union Square (420 Mason St., for all you locals), the mural features Thunberg from the chest up — gazing straight into our souls, lips pursed.It's enough to make anyone stop and consider their environmental impact.And that's kind of the point, said Paul Scott, executive director of OneAtmosphere.org — the nonprofit that's funding the project.The organization wanted to focus on art celebrating climate activists, Scott told CNN. When brainstorming people to feature, Thunberg was the first person that came to mind."If we can amplify her message and get more people involved and listening to what she's saying, then we're doing some good," he said.The overall feedback has been incredibly positive, he said. But the most critical reactions have been from those who haven't recognized her."They're struck by the image and want to learn more," he said. "If they take the time to learn more about what she's trying to share, that I think has an impact on most people. Makes them want to help."Andrés Petreselli is the artist behind the mural. He also did the city's Robin Williams one, which is how Scott found his work.Petreselli is donating his time to the cause and told CNN he feels connected to everything Thunberg is doing. She sets examples for the whole world, he said."We're pretty much at the beginning of our extinction, so if we don't do anything right now, it's going to be too late," he said.It's not the first mural to the young activistThunberg and her message have inspired murals around the world. One in Bristol, England, featuring the activist partly underwater went up earlier this year, along with another one in Canada.Not everyone has been eager to hear her message. The mural in Canada, painted on a "free wall" along a bike path, was defaced twice shortly after it was first created, according to CNN affiliate CBC.The adversity hasn't stopped Thunberg, though.She is best known for her climate strikes, which she began in 2018 outside the Swedish Parliament. Her protest inspired thousands of students around the world to walk out of class and demand action on the climate crisis.She hasn't slowed down. She's spoken to everyone from the United Nations to the US Congress -- and even former President Barack Obama -- about the climate crisis."As it is now, people in general don't seem to be very aware of the actual science and how serious this crisis is," she said in September during a congressional hearing. (KGTV and KESQ) - The Santee attorney who was rescued after a fall in Joshua Tree National Park is speaking about the experience.Paul Hanks drove to the park to hike on his 54th birthday last week. He had intended to spend half a day ‘bouldering’ before returning home.Hanks’ plans took a painful turn when he slipped and fell about 20 feet, injuring his leg.“It happened. I slipped and it was just, having not slipped in 45 years, it was instant and total shock,” Hanks said.RELATED: Family details how hiker stayed alive in Joshua TreeHanks crawled for miles, yelling for help. Eventually he settled under a Joshua Tree for the night, hoping he could throw some loose dirt on himself for warmth. Hanks quickly ran out of food and supplies.“By the very first night, I was drinking my own urine. I had drank all of the water in my bottle and was refilling my bottle with my own urine.”Hanks said the decision saved his life. He later found rainwater to drink and ate a cactus.“It gave me some physical energy and it gave me some hope and it made me believe this is giving me the 24 hours I'm looking for,” said Hanks.On Hanks’ fifth day in the park, search and rescue teams found him.“These three angels appeared out of nowhere and I was... I was shocked,” Hanks said. “I just couldn't believe it. I didn't want to say I had given up. Multiple times I had written myself off as dead. That I was never going to see another human being again and they showed up.”The rescue team gave Hanks Gatorade and took him to safety. Hanks is being treated at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Family members say he’ll have several surgeries for fractures on his leg, heel, forehead and pelvis. Hanks is expected to make a full recovery. 1750

(KGTV) -- A Marine with a Camp Pendleton-based unit died and a search is underway for eight others from that group following a training accident off the coast of San Clemente Island, U.S. Marine officials said.Officials said the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Thursday during a routine training exercise involving the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, I Marine Expeditionary Force, and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, according to officials.An amphibious assault vehicle with 15 Marines and one sailor inside reported taking water during the exercise, officials said.Seven members of the group were rescued and taken to the hospital, but officials confirmed another -- a Marine -- died at Scripps La Jolla Hospital. Two individuals, both Marines, were in critical and stable conditions, respectively.The five other members have returned to their assigned ship.The eight members — seven Marines and one sailor — remained missing as of Friday afternoon and were being searched for by the Navy's USS John Finn, three Navy helicopters, several smaller Navy vessels and a U.S. Coast Guard ship and helicopter, Marine officials said.Officials say that all families of the Marines and the sailor involved have been notified."We have not moved into a recovery operation," Gen. David Berger, USMC commandant, told reporters during a mid-afternoon briefing at Camp Pendleton, the home base of the personnel involved the accident.Friday, officials said that they have covered more than 200 square nautical miles in the search efforts.An immediate cancelation of AAV use was also ordered at the base and all vehicles will be inspected after the tragedy.Retired Lieutenant Colonel Hal Kempfer said these vehicles date back to World War II and historically can have issues."Even when they go through all the checklist, they can have mechanical problems in the water that they didn’t anticipate," said Kempfer.He also said that with only half getting out, it's likely that the vehicle took on water very quickly."One of the problems is if they take water, the Marines in the back of the vehicle are in a sealed compartment, so whereas the crew can get out fairly quickly, it's tough to get all the Marines out," he said.Kempfer added that while the goal is to keep everyone safe, even training comes with risks."We train like we fight, and we take all the precautions we possibly can but it’s a dangerous business and sometimes training accidents happen," he said, adding that whether a Marine died in combat or in a training drill, they should still be honored and remembered the same way.A Tweet from the First MEF reads “We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident.
