The officer who fired the gunshots in a deadly swatting prank will not be charged as a Wichita, Kansas prosecutor ruled that the officer "acted reasonably," the Wichita Eagle reported on Thursday.Andrew Finch was killed on Dec. 28 after a prankster called the Wichita Police claiming that Finch was holding the caller hostage, and that multiple others had been shot. When police entered the home, they did not know at the time that the call was a prank. District Attorney Marc Bennett said Thursday that officers believed that Finch was reaching for a gun at the time of the shooting. Officers claimed that Finch was reaching for his waistband, and did not follow instructions to keep his hands up. "This shooting should not have happened," Bennett told the Wichita Eagle. "The officer's decision was made in the context of the false call."Finch was shot roughly 10 seconds after he opened the door. An autopsy confirmed that Finch was wounded by multiple bullet fragments, the Eagle reported. "The family's devastated and the family is disappointed by the decision of the district attorney today," Finch's family attorney told the Eagle. The mother of a Michigan high school student cried in court as a judge said her son's million bond would remain in place, but that he would consider written arguments from the teen's defense attorney next month.  The 17-year-old DeBruyne, a South Lyon High School student is charged with Making a Threat of Terrorism, which is a felony, after the teen allegedly asked friends on Snapchat if they wanted to reenact what happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida where 17 people were killed days earlier. One friend reported the post to police. DeBruyne lives in Green Oak Township with his parents, and after receiving report of the alleged threat, police went to the family's home where they said the teen had no firearms in his possession. Friends and some fellow students on South Lyon High's Cross Country team and their parents showed up at court Wednesday in support of DeBruyne. "I don't think Ryan DeBruyne is a danger to anybody," said Michelle Klevering who also called her son's friend a "very good kid" and "very responsible."DeBruyne's defense attorney, Zack Glaza, asked Judge Travis Reeds to consider lowering his client's million dollar bond. The housing market halted at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, but now that sector of the economy is seeing the strongest recovery.“Housing economist have been optimistically surprised by the return of buyers to the market,” said Zillow Economist Skylar Olsen. “The overall availability of inventory is more constrained now than it was last year and that is putting upward pressure on prices, meaning that prices are stable.”Over the last few weeks, realtors like Michelle Pfeffer in New York City have noticed not only a strong market, but a new trend with the most competitive sales being homes located in the suburbs.“A lot of properties that are coming on the market are having showings within a couple of days and a lot of multiple offer situations,” Pfeffer said about homes in the suburbs. “We are definitely seeing more people moving out of the city.”Lingering uncertainty around the pandemic, and a possible second round of closures and self-quarantines have motivated many of these moves.“We are getting people who have been in quarantine for a couple of months now in small quarters and maybe have decided that it is more of a priority to have a yard and space,” Pfeffer added. “Also, because we have had a big technological shift, companies that weren’t offering remote work options previously were sort of forced into it and found that it was effective.
