Gyms are doing whatever they can to get you back, but many are wondering if it’s safe. A public health expert says it depends on what precautions your gym is taking.“The fact is that the gyms don't spread disease,” said Dr. Jay Wolfson, a public health professor at the University of South Florida. “The people within them who are coming into the gym and not cleaning up after themselves and are not maintaining social distances, and the gym staff, if they're not being attentive and conscientious in terms of disinfecting, are the ones who are aiding a abetting the spread of the disease.”There's evidence showing coronavirus can be spread through aerosol and droplets. Those droplets can float in the air long enough to be inhaled. And they could travel more aggressively when we’re working out.“Just as when you yell and scream, and you'll be sweating, and you'll be hyperventilating sometimes, so those droplet nuclei are going to come out, which means the larger particles are going to rest on some of the equipment as well as in the air,” said Wolfson.Wolfson says it may be hard to monitor gyms across the country because the rules in certain cities and states are different. And it's hard to know if a case is tied to a gym.A Norwegian university looked at whether workout facilities played a role in the spread. It didn't find any cases in people who went to the gym and took proper precautions.Researchers said going to the gym is relatively safe in areas where there aren't many infections. 1509
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes have renounced their rights to their top 2020 draft pick after learning more about his bullying of a Black classmate four years ago.The team parted ways with Mitchell Miller after taking heat for selecting him in the fourth round earlier this month despite knowing of his 2016 assault conviction.Arizona acknowledged it knew about the incident when it selected Miller.President and CEO Xavier Gutierrez said discovering more about it, and the effect it had on bullying victim Isaiah Meyer-Crothers and his family led to this decision."We have decided to renounce the rights to Mitchell Miller, effective immediately," said Gutierrez in a press release. "Prior to selecting Mitchell in the NHL Draft, we were aware that a bullying incident took place in 2016. We do not condone this type of behavior but embraced this as a teachable moment to work with Mitchell to make him accountable for his actions and provide him with an opportunity to be a leader in anti-bullying and anti-racism efforts. We have learned more about the entire matter, and more importantly, the impact it has had on Isaiah and the Meyer-Crothers family. What we learned does not align with the core values and vision for our organization and leads to our decision to renounce our draft rights. On behalf of the Arizona Coyotes ownership and our entire organization, I would like to apologize to Isaiah and the Meyer-Crothers family. We are building a model franchise on and off the ice and will do the right thing for Isaiah and the Meyer-Crothers family, our fans, and our partners. Mr. Miller is now a free agent and can pursue his dream of becoming an NHL player elsewhere. The news comes after an extensive exposè of Miller's bullying Meyer-Crothers, who has developmental disabilities, back in Ohio, was published on Oct. 26 by the Arizona Republic.According to the Toledo Blade, Miller and another student were found delinquent on counts of assault and violating the Ohio Safe Schools Act.In court, Miller admitted that he and Hunter McKie made Meyer-Crothers "eat a candy push pop after wiping it in a bathroom urinal," the Toledo Blade reported back in 2016.Sylvania Schools suspended Miller after the incident.Miller becomes an NHL free agent effective immediately.According to ESPN, North Dakota head coach Brad Berry told the Grand Forks Herald that Miller was still part of their program. 2422

HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) — A Pennsylvania college student who disappeared following a rugby tournament in Bermuda was found dead Monday after an intensive search of the British island territory.Searchers found the body of Mark Dombroski, 19, at the base of a colonial-era fort in a park not far from where he was last seen walking by himself on CCTV footage, officials with the Bermuda Police Service said at a news conference.A cause of death was not released but forensic experts were still processing the scene where his body was found and an autopsy was planned, said Acting Commissioner James Howard."Bermuda Police Service extends our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends," Howard said after a day of searching that included local authorities, volunteers and Dombroski's family.Dombroski was a member of the rugby team at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia and had come to Bermuda to compete in a tournament. He disappeared early Sunday, with video footage showing him walking alone and looking at his phone as he left a bar where his friends had gathered. He was found at the base of Fort Prospect in a wooded area known as the arboretum and near an athletic center where the team had played during the tournament.Dombroski's family rushed to the island to join the search and retrace his steps."We dearly love our son, we cherish our son. ... We want him back," his mother, Lisa Dombroski, said at a news conference with police officials. "We thank the citizens of Bermuda. People have been with us shoulder to shoulder throughout this ordeal."Detective Sgt. Jason Smith said there's no evidence Dombroski was drunk, or that alcohol played a role in his disappearance.Lisa Dombroski speculated her son, who had hurt his shoulder in a game that day and wasn't feeling well, had simply wanted to call it a night. She said the surveillance footage showed him favoring his arm."He wasn't in a celebratory kind of mood," Lisa Dombroski said. "He wanted to get back." 1992
Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that President Donald Trump staged a "political rally" at Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's ceremonial swearing-in that "further undermined the image and integrity of the court.""What was done last night in the White House was a political rally. It further undermined the image and integrity of the court," Clinton, Trump's Democratic 2016 election opponent, told CNN's Christiane Amanpour in an exclusive interview."And that troubles me greatly. It saddens me. Because our judicial system has been viewed as one of the main pillars of our constitutional government. So I don't know how people are going to react to it. I think, given our divides, it will pretty much fall predictably between those who are for and those who are against," Clinton said. 795
