VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Detectives called off a suspect search in Vista after it was discovered that a juvenile accidentally shot himself in the leg Monday afternoon. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department was called to the 100 block of Paseo Marguerita in Vista around 3:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a male juvenile with a gunshot wound. While responding, deputies received information about possible suspects. Authorities found the juvenile near a small pond with a gunshot wound to the leg. Meanwhile, a neighboring school was given an order to lock down. After an extensive search for the suspects, deputies broke down a perimeter set up around the area. The boy was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. After investigating, detectives learned that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted and "appeared to be accidental." The department said it's no longer looking for any suspects. 907

Walmart has announced which of its stores will be hosting free drive-in movies as part of a nationwide tour later this summer.Earlier this year, Walmart announced that it would transform the parking lots of 160 of its stores around the country into contact-free drive-in movie theaters.On Wednesday, the retail giant announced more details about the showings, including the dates, times and locations of the showings.In a press release, Walmart announced each location would be showing one of nine movies: "Wonder Woman," "Spy Kids," "Space Jam," "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse," "Ghostbusters," "The Wizard of Oz," "Black Panther," "E.T." or "Friday Night Lights." Movie choices will vary by location.Tickets to the screenings are free, but must be reserved in advance to ensure parking lots aren't overcrowded. Tickets are given out per car, and cover "as many people as you have seatbelts in your car."Tickets will be available by clicking here beginning at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday.For all showings, gates will open at 6 p.m. local time, and the films will begin at 7:30 p.m.To ensure proper social distancing, guests will be required to remain in their cars during the showings. (KGTV) — The jury deciding former NFL star Kellen Winslow Jr.'s fate in a rape trial, sent a note to the judge asking two questions.The questions lending a window into what's happening as the jury continues deliberating.10News spoke with Defense Attorney Gretchen Von Helms, to gain insight.On the surface, the questions seem obvious: "The jurors could benefit from an explanation as to what being under oath means. Yes, you're supposed to follow the law," Von Helms said.She said the note made her think the jury was not agreeing, "the jury's trying to be nice here and say there's one person who just doesn't want to follow the rules, that's what it sounds like."The first question, she said, could indicate questions the jurors have, "sometimes police officers have to take an oath to be a police officer and maybe they feel that the police officer didn't do their job and follow up correctly or maybe they feel that their definition of that oath is different from the jurors oath."In regards to the second question, she said "the gut versus law issue, they must follow the law, even if they don't like the defendant, even though some people may not want to convict him because he's a football legacy, you can't do that. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The man accused of killing his mother in her Oceanside home pleaded not guilty. He was not granted bail. Quiet and still. Anthony Sardina stood in front of Honorable James Simmons Jr., denying any involvement in his mother's murder. "Not guilty plea is entered on Mr. Sardina's behalf," Judge Simmons said.  The 37-year old is accused of killing his mother, 64-year-old Regina Sardina. The heinous crime was discovered by Anthony's younger brother, who found Regina's body in their Oceanside home Sunday afternoon. The deputy district attorney told reporters for the first time that Sardina used a knife to kill his mother."Anthony Sardina was arraigned on a complaint alleging one count of murder as well as what is known as a 'felony strike prior allegation,' and attached to the murder charges is the allegation that he personally used a knife in the commission of the offense," said deputy district attorney Robert Bruce.After the attack, investigators said Sardina took his mother's car to a nearby Hobby Lobby and caught a cab. Police arrested him shortly after tracking him through the cab company. "Oceanside did a terrific job investigating this offense, bringing it to the DA's office, we charged it quickly, and the case continues to be investigated," Bruce said. 10News found Anthony Sardina has a lengthy criminal felony record, with arrests dating back to 2009, and as recently as July 31st of this year. This ultimately led to him getting no bail. "The judge said no bail on the case, both on the murder charge, because of the nature of the charge, and the fact that he is on probation from a prior offense, which carries no bail," Bruce said. If found guilty, Sardina faces 51 years to life in prison.   1791
