SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Starting this month, the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park will begin requiring ticket reservations for all guests.The two parks have avoided requiring ticket reservations since reopening as an outdoor attraction last June. SeaWorld San Diego and LEGOLAND California have reopened in more limited capacities and have required reserved tickets for guests.Starting Dec. 5, the two zoos will begin to require a reservation for guests. San Diego Zoo Global says the change will be in addition to health screenings and safety measures already implemented throughout the park."Due to COVID-19, in order to keep our community safe during this time and in anticipation of high demand, the San Diego Zoo will implement a reservation system required for entry," the zoo's website reads.Ticket reservations will be required for all visitors ages 3 and older. San Diego Zoo members will need to make a reservation to visit ahead of time as well. Teachers can record lessons and even have an extra set of eyes. “The cameras would show whether the student is paying attention or not dozing off or not,” Munir said. The first-of-its-kind event is designed to make it easier for governments to identify and use the smart innovations, which include parking meters, license plates, and even vacuums. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Several changes are being introduced to how Assembly Bill 5 applies to freelance writers and photographers.Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez announced the changes Thursday to address feedback from freelance writers and journalists over the effects of AB 5.“Having heard additional feedback from a variety of freelance writers, photographers and journalists, we are making changes to Assembly Bill 5 that accommodate their needs and still provide protections from misclassification,” Assemblywoman Gonzalez said.RELATED: Proposed bill would exempt musicians from AB 5The changes will remove the cap on the number of submissions that a freelancer writer, photographer, or editor can submit to one hiring entity before they must be classified as an employee. Hiring entities must not use a contractor to replace an employee position as well.When contractors provide services, their contract must specify the rate of their pay, when they receive payment, and the individual's intellectual property rights to the work submitted. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several protesters were arrested in downtown San Diego Friday night as demonstrators gathered following a grand jury announcement in the Breonna Taylor case.San Diego Police tweeted just before 11 p.m. that three protesters were arrested at B Street and Columbia Street.One of the demonstrators was arrested for robbery of a cell phone while two others were arrested for interfering with an arrest. Police said a cell phone was stolen from a victim while they were recording the protesters.Police said earlier that roughly 40 to 50 protesters gathered in the downtown area.“We are again with the group to ensure they remain safe and the community remains safe.
