(KGTV) -- Police in National City are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect accused of killing a 26-year-old man near a National City 7-Eleven.Police say Onan Loaiza was shot and killed on the 800 block of Eta Street around 11 a.m. on March 27.Police say one suspect, Robert Allen Garduno, 27, was arrested for the murder, but another suspect is still on the loose.RELATED: Deadly shooting near 7-Eleven in National City may have been sparked by fight, police say?According to detectives, Loaiza was walking home after reportedly getting into a fight at the Mex Mart when a vehicle pulled up next to him.Authorities say a man got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and shot and killed Loaiza.Anyone with information is asked to call the National City Police Department at 619-336-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.Crime Stoppers is offering up to a ,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.RELATED: Man dies after shooting near National City 7-Eleven The shooting was the first of two to happen near the same location. On April 8, police were called to the same area after they say another man was shot and killed on the 100 block of North Highland Avenue.Police haven't named the victim or suspect in that homicide.  1299

Nearly a full year after the season started, the 2020-21 NHL season finally came to a close with the Tampa Bay Lightning winning its first Stanley Cup in 16 years by defeating the Dallas Stars on Monday. The Lightning won the best-of-seven series 4-2 after winning Monday’s Game 6 contest by a 2-0 ledger.The Lightning won the Stanley Cup despite not having the services of its top forward Steven Stamkos for most of the playoffs. Stamkos briefly played in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and he even scored a goal in his short appearance.The NHL suspended its season on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic. After a nearly four-month hiatus, the NHL resumed action with a 24-team playoff held in two “hub” cities – Edmonton and Toronto.The entirety of the Stanley Cup Finals was played in Edmonton.Stepping up for the absent Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point helped the Lightning to victory. Kucherov had a league-leading 32 points in the playoffs, followed by 31 points for Point.But it was defender Victor Hedman who won the the Conn Smythe Trophy for the playoff's most valuable player.The Lightning’s goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy, also stepped up with an under 2 goals against average.The Lightning’s Stanley Cup victory avenged the ending to the Lightning’s 2019 season. (KGTV) - The F-35C landed in Miramar Tuesday, the first of it's kind for the Department of Defense, according to officials at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.UPDATE: Officials later clarified the F-35C arriving at Miramar was the first for the Marine Corps.There are three versions of the F-35 Lightning II. The F-35C is the "carrier version", the largest of it's kind and able to land on an aircraft carrier's runway.The fighter jet is the most advanced in the military, "everything you look at is displayed in the helmet, I mean it's like in the movies," Squadron Commander Lt. Col. Cedar Hinton, USMC said.Hinton is the newest commander of the Black Knight Squadron at MCAS Miramar, who will inherit the incoming F-35Cs."This is an exciting time in the Black Knight history. This squadron was stood up in WWII like a lot of squadrons, this particular squadron's able to break a lot of milestones." He mentioned milestones that started in the 1950's with the F-9F Panther. That was the "Navy’s first successful carrier-based jet fighter" and landed with the Black Knights at Miramar. Then in the 1960's the squadron was the first in the Marine Corps to fly the F-4B Phantom.In the 1980's they were the first to fly the F/A-18.The F-35 got it's first test in combat in 2018, deploying to Afghanistan, and then in Iraq a year later."They've had some pretty good success with it, I mean it does what we paid for it to do," Lt. Col. Hinton said.It's record isn't pristine. The jet faced scrutiny when it suffered mechanical failures during development. In 2018, an F-35 crashed in South Carolina."I mean single engine airplane, but this engine is by far probably the most advance engine ever built... That engine is more reliable than two engines on an F-18 I'd say," Lt. Col. Hinton said.Miramar has been waiting for this moment since they retired the F/A-18 Hornet last June.Miramar will get another F-35C next week, and a third in March. The plan states the air station will get 75 jets over the next 10 years."We've got to start working the systems, we have to start integrating it with our software," Hinton said there's a lot of work to do to get the squadron up and running. (KGTV)- A bike giveaway in National City will go on during the Pandemic, continuing a five decade tradition of helping low-income families in Southern San Diego."The motorcycle community steps up to the plate every year," says organizer Brian "Snowman" Trum, with the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club. "This year was pretty grim with the COVID and everything."Traditionally, people line up in National City for the giveaway. Some even camp out over night. The motorcycle club gives away hundreds of bikes and toys every year.But County health restrictions make much of that impossible during the Pandemic.Trum says his group made sweeping changes to the way they'll do the event this year, to keep everyone safe."We have masks to give away for people who don't have them. We'll have tape in the street for where you can stand, where you shouldn't stand. And we have gallons of hand sanitizer," he says.Santa will also make an appearance, but this year he'll be behind a booth to keep social distance. In addition to the physical aspects of running the bike giveaway, the Pandemic also brought problems with donations. Trum says his group usually starts buying and building bikes before Thanksgiving, but this year they had no money at that time.Some late donations helped salvage the event, showing how generous the community can be."After a couple weeks, money started coming in. We got some really generous donations by people we've known who have helped us out over the years. So it looks like we're going to have a great Christmas," says Trum. 1574

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The NFL has postponed Sunday’s game between the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers to allow for additional time for COVID-19 testing.In a statement released Wednesday, the league said it wants to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel.The NFL said the game will be played on either Monday or Tuesday.
