on Facebook as their driver was seen speeding through the streets of Richmond.John Murray and Tameka Swann said they were picked up from their home just before 8 p.m. Monday for a night out on the town.But shortly after pulling away, they said someone rear-ended their Uber.“Our Uber attempted to pull over so that they exchange information, but the car didn’t stop behind us. They went around us and sped off, and that’s when our Uber sped off behind him,” Swann said.Murray began to stream their trip on Facebook Live from the backseat.“Nobody would’ve known that would’ve happened if I didn’t get that on camera,” he said.The video showed the Uber driver call 911 and hand his cell phone to Swann. The couple pleaded for the driver to stop as he sped through stoplights and stop signs.Video shows that the 911 dispatcher demanded the driver stop.“The driver won’t let us out. He’s trying to catch the guy because he hit us,” Swann told the dispatcher.The Uber driver then pulled onto West Broad Street and raced through several more red lights, according to the video.Then, the couple said an SUV crashed into the side of their car at West Broad Street and Arthur Ashe Boulevard. The video showed the driver continuing to speed away, narrowly missing a bicyclist.“I feel like he had tunnel vision. I feel like he didn’t focus on anything else,” Swann said.The driver eventually stopped at West Marshall Street and Hermitage Road, where they met an officer.“That was the scariest moment of my life,” Swann said. “I have never been that scared in my life. It was a nightmare.”“Richmond Police detectives are investigating a hit and run incident that happened around 8:15 p.m. last night near Arthur Ashe Boulevard and West Broad Street,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “We ask that anyone with information about the incident to call Hit and Run Detective G. after he allegedly asked two women for their phone numbers in exchange for dropping a traffic ticket.According to a press release from the office of Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Chancellor Dmitri Searcy, 32 allegedly twice asked women he pulled over for their phone numbers in exchange for dropping the ticket.The first incident allegedly occurred on July 2, 2018, when he pulled over a 21-year-old woman and asked for her number. The woman says she received unwanted phone calls and text from Searcy after the incident.A month later on Aug. 14, Searcy pulled over a 29-year-old woman. Searcy reportedly told the woman she would receive a ticket, and be taken to jail unless she gave him her phone number. He also allegedly threatened to impound the woman's car. That woman also said she began receiving unwanted calls and texts from Searcy.Searcy faces a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison if he's found guilty. He will be arraigned on Aug. 17. In the past, Searcy has faced charges that he stole thousands of dollars from people he pulled over. He was found not guilty of those charges in 2017.This story was originally published by 1155

buried under snow a mile away from their car, police say.Detectives say 74-year-old Richard Alexander, and his wife, 79-year-old Elizabeth Alexander, likely died of hypothermia.Neighbors Mike and Diane Haas found the couple Friday. They say they saw two figures as they left their house around 1 p.m.. As they approached, they hoped for the best.“He wondered if they were sleeping, so he got out and yelled at them and they didn’t respond,” Diane Haas said.“I said 'Sir, sir!' And of course they didn’t respond," Mike Haas said. "It came pretty obvious pretty quick, their skin color and other details that they were deceased. So we immediately called 911 and made sure not to touch anything."Detectives with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said the Alexanders lived nearby. Their car got stuck last week in a storm that dumped 10 inches of snow on Ash Fork.“Eventually they decided to leave their vehicle,” Mike Haas said. “They were headed to our house we believe. But 100 yards short."The YCSO says a preliminary finding shows no evidence of foul play.For the Haases, it is emotional to think the couple was suffering so close, while they were celebrating Thanksgiving.“It’s sadness,” Mike Haas said. “You wish you could’ve helped. You could’ve saved a life perhaps. Maybe two lives.”According to the Haases, they found Richard Alexander laying on top of his wife, possibly trying to keep her warm.“It’s terrifying to think that she might’ve been alive under her husband,” Mike Haas said.The Haases say the tragedy is a reminder to always be prepared during extreme weather.“If they hadn’t left their car, I really believe somebody would’ve checked on them. People drove by them but everybody assumed this was somebody who got their car stuck, they called and got rescued.
