TORONTO (AP) — The NHL believes all seven Canadian teams will be able to start the season playing in their home arenas.NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said Thursday the league believes it is clear to play in Canada during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic after discussions with the five provincial governments with NHL teams to try to gain approval to start Jan. 13.The NHL realigned its divisions for the season so that the North Division — which features all seven Canadian teams — would not have to cross the U.S.-Canada border, which remains closed to non-essential travel until at least Jan. 21.The league released its schedule Wednesday, with each team playing 56 games instead of the usual 82.On Tuesday, the league released its coronavirus-related protocols, which include coaches must wear masks at all times while behind the bench, owners can't have face-to-face meetings with players, and teams can only travel with up to 50 people, according to the Associated Press. The AP also reported that the league had asked the players not to go to restaurants, bars, and clubs and not have outside guests at their homes. 1140

This holiday season won't be the same without "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on network TV.But after viewer outrage, it is coming back to TV — for just one night.Viewers looking for "A Charlie Brown Christmas" won't find it on ABC or CBS this year for the first time in 50 years.Apple this fall snapped up all the Peanuts specials (including "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"), and they will be streaming on Apple TV Plus from now on.You can just see Apple jumping up and down in a little wooden booth like Lucy Van Pelt, saying "I just love the sound of money!"Where you can still see it freeBut if you don't want to pay a month to subscribe to Apple TV Plus, you still have several free options to watch the holiday favorite.Apple announced "A Charlie Brown Christmas" will be available to stream on the platform for free from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13.Just go visit the Apple TV Plus website(tv.apple.com) on a TV, smartphone or laptop and search for the special. You should not be required to enter a credit card to watch the special between Dec. 11 and 13, according to Apple Insider. A credit card is required for a 7-day free trial of the entire streaming service on all other days. What about those who don't stream? But from the doesn't that stink file — Apple's free offer doesn't help those who still use cable or antenna TV.After thousands of viewer complaints, Apple recently announced it is allowing PBS stations nationwide to air the show on Dec. 13. It will air at 7:30 pm on most stations, but check your local PBS listings.DVDs of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" are also available at Walmart, Target, and Amazon for between - for those who want to watch the show on demand without a streaming service. The only thing missing: The old Dolly Madison snack cake commercials featuring Lucy and Linus and the gang that used to air during the broadcast.Streaming TV is the future, but some traditions are best enjoyed the old fashioned way, with the whole family gathered in front of the big TV screen. There’s a new way to make some extra cash with Airbnb, and the best part is that you don’t need to rent out a room to a stranger. All you need to know how to create is an experience. The question you have to ask yourself is: How well do you know your city?Washington state native Tim Mezen has been taking pictures professionally in Seattle for many years. When his finances got tight this past winter, Mezen needed an alternate way to make some side money. It just so happened that Airbnb had opened-up an experience in Seattle. Mezen decided to sign up and create a simple downtown walking tour. Mezen says, "I wanted to come up with something that was walking and very photogenic and fun."Other hosts offer experiences like, surf lessons, sushi making classes and silent disco yoga. However, Mezen wanted to create walking tour that took visitors to the most Instagramable places in the Emerald City.If you decide to create an experience in your own city, Mezen suggests making it a point to showcase the famous places. The application process is quick and as long as you have some free time, anyone can do it.Mezen says, "it gives you a chance to meet other people and see your city through a different lens."Right now, Airbnb's new program is only in select cities like Seattle, but it could be coming to a city near you. That way, you too can make some extra cash. 1400

They are everywhere.Residents in the Dobson Ranch neighborhood of Mesa say they're fed up with the number of feral cats that are roaming the neighborhood.  Alan Robinson, who has lived in the community for more than 20 years said the problem started about four or five years ago. "There was one time I opened my door and I counted 35 cats on my front lawn," said Robinson. Now with cats mating, neighbors reported seeing dozens of kittens also roaming the streets. Robinson said these cats were urinating and defecating on front lawns, planters, by front doors, and in backyards. He says cushions on his backyard patio furniture that were coated with a thick layer of cat hair. During an interview, a cat appeared out of nowhere in the backyard and jumped onto a wall.Robinson said he had installed spikes on parts of his backyard wall to keep the cats away.Another resident said he had to buy expensive chemicals to treat his yard because of the waste left behind."When I try to mow the lawn the smell is so strong, I'm inhaling it. I've had to buy masks so I don't breathe it in," resident Jim Jarvis said.Residents believed the feral cats were attracted to their neighborhood for a reason."The problem statement is not that we have feral cats. The problem statement is that some people feed those feral cats. They call this place home," Robinson said.Pictures and videos of the feral cats taken by residents in the community showed at least eight cats sitting in the backyard of one home, by a swimming pool. Another woman who asked us not to identify her shared photos and videos of almost a dozen cats sitting on a neighbor's front lawn.Other pictures taken by Robinson showed cats on the sidewalk, cats sleeping on top of parked cars, on the roofs of homes. One cat appeared to have several large lumps on it's back.Robinson said he had done a lot of research that showed the health hazards in communities with feral cats.He pointed to a study published in "Trends in Parasitology" showing cat feces can be a source of parasites that can affect humans and other animals in the neighborhood. However, most Phoenix-area shelters will not take in alley cats, as they are considered free-roaming creatures, unlike dogs. Some animal advocates say feral cats can live healthy lives outdoors. Most Arizona counties have Trap-Neuter-Return programs for feral cats, calling it the best way to control the growing population of alley cats in the community. The Animal Defense League runs a trap, neuter and return program in Arizona. Officials ask those interested in the program fill out a form on their website.According to information posted on the site, the number of animals killed in local shelters has decreased since their predecessor started the Spay Neuter Hotline.  2829
