SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two thieves prowled an entire neighborhood in Oak Park looking for something very specific on the vehicles.Along Blackton Drive, the sense of safety is shattered for David Cabrera.  Late Wednesday morning, Cabrera and his wife returned home to a neighbor telling them to check their license plate.  He discovered the registration sticker on his truck stolen. He had sliced his sticker into eight different sections as a precaution but it didn't help.Cabrera's surveillance cameras revealed the thieves:  a man and a woman walking together. A tree obscures the camera's view, but a woman can be seen behind Cabrera's truck, while the man stands and looks around.  The woman gets up and the two walk off.Seconds later, a neighbor saw the same woman peeling off a sticker from another car and the neighbor ran out of her kitchen to confront her.  That neighbor told the woman to put it back.  The woman got verbally aggressive but did put the sticker back.Neighbors called 911 but the thieves took off.  After Cabrera posted details on the Nextdoor app, five other neighbors reported also getting hit that morning."It's a feeling of violation. You want to feel safe in your own neighborhood," said Cabrera. 1275

San Diego (KGTV)- A music teacher at Grossmont High School reached out to the community after students were in need of guitars for the upcoming school year. The students will be practicing distance learning.Music teacher Jeremy Cook says the support has been overwhelming.“The response from the community has been absolutely amazing. I’ve met so many people. I’ve driven across the county picking up the guitars,” says Cooke.Cooke has received 117 guitars for students to practice.“Last year we had upwards of 120 guitar students total,” says Cooke. “There’s a hope to be able to offer guitars to students who aren’t able to take the class.”A couple of weeks ago, Cooke went to pick up a donation from a woman named Pam Anderson in Mission Hills.“I took it back to my car and popped it open. I was flabbergasted at what was inside. It was a 1969 Fender Telecaster.”These guitars range from ,000 to ,000. Cooke says he had to let Anderson know its value.“She said that she appreciated the honesty, and she still wanted to donate the guitar to the school,” says Cooke. “It was her husband’s who passed away. She said she knew he would want the same thing.”The guitar will be used for student performances and in the newly renovated music room when students are allowed back on campus.Cooke says he appreciates all of the donations. As a thank you to Anderson, the teacher has set up a GoFund Me page to help her during the pandemic.Cooke says there is still a need for guitars for the upcoming school year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Tuesday evening, San Diego’s City Council approved a strategy that will make it easier to create housing in commercial areas.The changes allow more businesses to add living spaces and authorize more locations where live/work quarters are permitted.The move created an amendment to the rules currently in place on living and working quarters as part of an earlier update to San Diego’s land development code.“This is going to put underutilized commercial and industrial spaces to work in tackling San Diego’s housing crisis,” Mayor Faulconer said. “Lifting restrictions on housing will bring new life to old buildings and allow businesses owners to live where they work. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - UC San Diego and the San Diego Police Department are investigating a series of incidents where a man reportedly exposed himself several times so far this year. According to the university, from January through March of 2019, there have been at least six reports of a man who appears to be jogging in the University City area when he reportedly exposed his genitals to women. During all the reported incidents, the suspect ran up to female victim and exposed himself before running away. San Diego Police detectives are still investigating the patterns of the six incidents. But Lt. Justin Scott told 10News, most of the incidents happened during the last afternoon/early evening hours in the UTC South area.The man is described as a white or Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5’ 5” to 5’ 10” tall with a beard in most of the incidents. The suspect has been seen wearing black or gray running shorts and a green or black hoodie pulled up. None of the incidents happened on the UC San Diego campus, but some of the victims were students, police said. The university says anyone who has been sexually assaulted or subject to other forms of sexual misconduct or harassment should report the incident to university officials and San Diego Police Northern Division. 1298
