(KGTV) - A baby python caught on video being snatched from a reptile store in Escondido has been recovered.Late Wednesday afternoon, police told 10news a break in case led them to a home in Escondido, where a woman spotted in surveillance video admitted to taking the snake and turned it over. The theft took place at LLL Reptile last Friday afternoon."Just shocking because of the way she did it," said District Mangaer Joe Alvarez.Video shows her walking around the reptile shop for about ten minutes, before something catches her eye. On the video, she's seen staring down an employee before she appears to slide open the top of a tank and grab something. Another camera shows her walking right past the checkout counter. From the final camera angle, a yellow snake is seen squirming in her purse."Looks like the snake is making one last ditch effort to get away, you see her literally grab the snake and put it in her purse before she walks out," said Alvarez.That snake is a baby yellow-colored, green tree python, about ten inches long. "A lot of guys pour their heart and soul into caring for these animals, and someone comes and just rips it out. It hurts," said Alvarez.Alvarez was concerned about the snake's welfare, because it requires high heat and humidity. The conditions are more important because of his young age, about three months old. Those worries dissipated when police stopped by the shop on Wednesday, snake in hand. Employees tell 10news the staff was "over the moon excited." Police tell 10news the woman was wanted on 5 outstanding warrants, including at least one drug-related warrant. ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) — A verbal confrontation between a North County father and son turned violent after a knife was involved, leading to a stabbing.A man and his son living in the 1100 block of Saxony Rd. got into an argument at about 4:30 p.m. Friday, the San Diego Sheriff's Department said. The argument soon turned into a violent confrontation though, when one of the son reportedly stabbed his father, according to City News Service.The father was taken to a nearby hospital with a single, non-life threatening stab wound.Deputies were unable to find the man's son though, after searching the nearby area using K-9 officers and a SDSO helicopter.SDSO was still trying to locate the suspect Saturday. Families still returning home to San Diego after surviving the deadly earthquake in Mexico City.Jorge Jiron and his wife are back in the US after nearly 24 hours of chaos. "when it hit it started shaking real bad," he said. He was in a building that sits on the side of a canyon nearly 12 floors up. Suddenly, everything started to move. "\We were close to the exit, on your way out it is shaking hard but you're really paying attention to everybody and their instructions to get out," said Jiron. "Then, that's when you realize everything is shaking, the windows are shaking the hard, the electric poles are really moving, then you see people that are nervous."The 7.1 magnitude quake was crumbling buildings, shattering windows and sending debris flying through the air. "You're walking you're moving, so you don't realize how bad it is until you're actually standing in one place and you see everything moving around you. When you realize it's already stopped, it takes seconds."They were supposed to fly back to the US Tuesday night, but there was no way out. "The main road that goes to the airport was completely packed with cars. ENCINITAS, Calif., (KGTV)— It has been almost three weeks since a fire destroyed several small shops in Encinitas. One of the business owners who lost it all is now getting a lot of support from his local community. In a blink of an eye, Greg Cali's life work was destroyed."One thing's for sure, it's been the most stressful period of my life," Cali said. His gallery was called "The Cali Life." It featured works by Cali and several other local artists. The blaze on September 30, 2019, burned it all to the ground. All except for one thing."The sign up over the building was the only thing I got," Cali said.That sign now has a new home inside of Pandora's Pizza restaurant."Art and pizza. Those are two of my favorite things on earth," he laughed. Two days before the fire, Cali sent out invitations to his gallery's one-year anniversary party. But with no gallery and no salvageable artwork, it was going to be canceled. That was, until Craig Leslie, Pandora's Pizza owner, reached out. Some of Cali's artwork was already hanging inside Pandora's Pizza, so Leslie offered to host the gallery party at the restaurant, located just two blocks away. "We're here to support him," Leslie said. "We're here to support other artists in the community. Let us know what you need, and I mean, we have a lot of walls!"Cali spent the last three weeks printing his collection, getting new pieces and organizing a silent auction. Instead of drowning himself in sorrow, he said his community is showering him with hope. Leslie even told Cali that he could use his upstairs loft as his gallery until he gets back on his feet. "My future, it looks really bright," Cali said. "There are ups and downs for sure, but I am 100 percent sure that you can turn bad things into positives.
