The new sandwich shop can be found at 690 1st Ave.A cult following has developed behind Earl of Sandwich, with its popular sandwiches like The Full Montagu (roast beef and turkey), The Original 1762 (roast beef and cheddar), and Holiday Turkey (turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing) sandwiches.RELATED: Michelin identifies several San Diego restaurants as 'hidden gems'The restaurant chain is named after John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- In three weeks San Diego County will elect its next district attorney,  and in a recent poll a large number of voters indicated that they're still undecided. The results of our scientific 10News Union-Tribune poll shows the battle between Summer Stephan and challenger Genevieve Jones-Wright is wide open. If the election were held today, Summer Stephan would get 35 percent of the vote. Genevieve Jones-Wright would get 22 percent and 43 percent of those polled said they are undecided. "Those polls are consistent with what our campaign research shows," Jones-Wright told 10News. "We knew we were up against a political machine and it really is no surprise to me that she's up on the polls."Progressive candidate Jones-Wright says Stephan got a head start, by being appointed to the district attorney job when Bonnie Dumanis left. Jones-Wright said she thinks the poll shows her campaign is gaining steam.Stephan was encouraged by the poll numbers. "This is very encouraging, what you're telling me, because it shows that what we're doing is working," she told 10News. "That San Diegans are enjoying that we're one of the safest urban regions in the country and that they really prefer experience over an experiment."The poll shows that Stephan's voter base is republican, white and over the age of 35. It shows that Wright's voter base is younger, more racially mixed and primarily democratic. On Monday, Summer Stephan pulled out of a community forum, one which both she and Genevieve Jones-Wright accepted to face off. 1581

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Many local restaurants are having a hard time finding outdoor patio heaters.The difficulty comes as restaurant owners in San Diego County prepare to close their indoor dining areas and take operations outside when new COVID-19 related restrictions take effect Saturday. The county is moving from the state's red to the purple tier following an increase in COVID-19 cases. The purple tier has the toughest COVID-19 related rules.The owners of Sisters Pizza in Hillcrest say they own four outdoor heaters and recently purchased two more from Amazon three weeks ago, one of the last left at the time. They are due to arrive any day."We paid about four times the price of our original space heater," owner Emily Green Lake said. "Right now, the heaters are really what it's all about in keeping people wanting to come back to your spot, or that second glass of wine or that dessert, and all of those extras are what's keeping businesses afloat right now."Premier Patio Heating in Oceanside, which rents out patio heaters, is out. Eddie Essey, vice president of operations, said they have a backlog of about 200 orders from restaurants and hotels. Anyone looking to get some from them now has a six-week wait."I'm saying six weeks," Essey said. "Honestly, that's a little optimistic. Realistically, I don't expect my supply chain to be where I want it to be until March or April."He's putting new orders on a waitlist but advising the customer to keep looking and trying other suppliers."Restaurants are struggling enough as it is that I don't want them to be missing out on income on their patios every night just waiting on me to get a shipment in," he said. "Everyone needs more patio heaters. People that already have some need more, people that don't have any, need some."Many restaurants told ABC 10News off-camera that they could not find any patio heaters and are still looking. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- It’s one of San Diego’s most iconic parks, but there’s a push to change its name and possibly everything it stands for.In September, two very different sides clashed at Chicano Park. The clash required police to break it up.The park is the heart of Barrio Logan and its murals are a colorful reminder of its history.Jorge Gonzales says it’s symbolic of the civil rights movement of the 70s. “These murals tell the story of the Civil Rights era. Right? That went far and beyond Barrio Logan and Chicano Park,” said Gonzales.Five people questioned that history in September at what was called the Patriotic Picnic.Police had to protect them from dozens of people who surrounded them in protest. “The murals are revolutionary. They're anti-American,” said activist Roger Ogden.Ogden was at the picnic and says political radicals and militants run Chicano Park. “It shouldn't be called Chicano Park. They could call it Hispanic Park, Latino Park and celebrate all the Hispanics and not just the militants. If you go down there and wave the US Flag, if I go down there I'm probably going to get beat up.”Ogden and several others shared the video from the picnic and their thoughts with the San Diego City Council on Tuesday.“You can celebrate the Hispanic culture but it should be broader and more inclusive. A lot of Hispanics wouldn't want to be called Chicano because it has a militant aspect to it,” said Ogden.Gonzales says the patriotic picnickers need to have a conversation with someone who understands the murals and who can translate the stories behind the paint.“I think there's a lot of miseducation. People have eyes and love for this park,” said Gonzales.That conversation could become another colorful reminder of the park’s history. 1771

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- In response to growing community outrage over a man who was released on bail a day after being arrested on attempted kidnapping charges, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department has released surveillance video of the incident in hopes of alleviating concern.The incident happened Sunday just before 3 p.m. in the parking lot of Costco Warehouse located at 1755 Hacienda Drive in Vista.A couple and their two small children were backing out of a parking stall when the suspect opened the rear vehicle door. The suspect attempted to remove the 2-year-old child from the car.Adam Glavinic, 37, was arrested for attempted kidnapping and being under the influence of a controlled substance and was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.Outrage ensued following reports that Glavinic was released from jail on a 0,000 bail the next day.WATCH: Growing outrage over attempt kidnapping suspect's release on bail"The Sheriff's Department in partnership with the D.A.'s Office are now releasing the video due to understandable concern from community members," said Lt. Ricardo Lopez, Media Relations Director for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department."It is understandable that anytime an incident involves a child in the vicinity of an event, it can produce fear and anxiety on the part of parents and community. This is why law enforcement prioritizes these cases and focuses on the evidence," said Lopez.The surveillance video the sheriff released Thursday night shows Glavinic walk up the driver's side of the family's white SUV.
