A Cleveland family is hoping social media will help them locate the donor who provided bone marrow to treat their 2-year-old daughter’s cancer last October. Doctors say this anonymous donor could be the key to treating their daughter’s cancer relapse.G.I. and Annie Zaratsian’s daughter Viv is living a normal 2-year-old’s life – at home, enjoying time with her sisters. She was diagnosed with Acute Megakaryoblastic Leukemia on July 20, 2017, at just 18 months old, according to a Facebook post from her mother. Over the next five months, Viv was hospitalized, faced multiple challenging complications, and received a bone marrow transplant from an anonymous donor. One year after her diagnosis, she was in remission.Then, during a recent routine biopsy, Viv’s family learned that she is beginning to relapse, and her cancer is returning, her father said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. The biopsy revealed that 0.2 percent of her cancer cells are back.The family is working with doctors at the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland to develop a plan to get Viv back into remission and fully healthy again, and to capitalize on the fact that her cancer numbers are still low, her father said.One of the potential treatments Viv’s doctors would like to administer is a process called Donor Lymphocyte Infusion, or DLI. It requires some of the blood to be extracted from her bone marrow donor and then infused into Viv, her father explained.Unfortunately, the donor registry team is unable to make contact with her bone marrow donor and the family is not legally allowed to receive information about who the donor is due to privacy and confidentiality regulations.The family posted all this on Facebook with the hope that it would be shared, and that the anonymous donor would come forward to donate his blood and get Viv the treatment she needs.The family knows the donor is a young male, likely 20 to 30 years old, and he does not live in the United States. There’s another unique connection that might help them track him down: when he donated his bone marrow, he sent along a small blue sheep figurine for good luck.Since it was posted Tuesday afternoon, G.I. A former University of Airzona athlete was the first witness today in the trial of a coach accused of choking her.Baillie Gibson was a shot put and discus thrower at Arizona. She says former track coach Craig Carter choked her and threatened to slash her with a box cutter when she tried to end a two-year sexual relationship.In opening statements, prosecutor Jonathan Mosher read the jury a series of texts between Gibson and Carter where he became more and more threatening as she said she planned to leave Tucson after graduating.She went to his office in McKale Center, the university's basketball arena and training center. That's where Carter allegedly choked her and threatened to slash her with a box cutter.Cater confessed to a University of Arizona Police officer. Carter's attorney, Dan Cooper, read the jury many of the same texts but said they show Carter's attack was the result of a momentary loss of control and was not the sort of deliberate attack required for a conviction.Prosecutors expect a short trial.The rest of their witness list only includes two police officers and a friend of Baillie Gibson. 1144

A Lake Worth family’s home was defaced and targeted on the night of the Florida primary because of their politics, and now they worry what might happen next.Jeanne and Michael Carroll came home Tuesday night to find profanity and an anti-Trump message spray-painted on their home.“We should have freedom of speech, freedom to do whatever we want on our own property,” said Jeanne Carroll, who believes her home was targeted because of the Trump flag flying outside.In the 400 block of S K Street in Lake Worth, pride of country is on full display with American flags flapping in the wind. But the Carroll’s home is the only one with a Trump flag. It's been outside for about eight months without any problems, until Tuesday night."I feel extremely violated," Carroll said.The Carrolls went out to dinner Tuesday, and when they came home they found the words "F*** Trump" spray-painted underneath their front window near the flag."I just don't understand why anyone would take the chance of endangering themselves and coming onto someone else's property just because of a political flag," she said.Less than 24 hours later, Michael Carroll's car was also spray painted. It was tagged with the same anti-Trump message and the letter X."People are so just on opposite sides and it's so divided," neighbor PJ Mahoney said.Mahoney has a sign on her fence supporting a Republican for Governor, and she is thankful no one saw a Trump sign hanging on her house. She feels no one should destroy someone's property, no matter what political party you support."I think people are very selfish and self-centered that if they don't agree with it they think they have the right to do something about it," Mahoney said.That is what now scares Carroll. A Clarksville teacher was charged with assault after an incident with a student during a field trip to Nashville was reported to police.According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, Robert Neitzke – a teacher at Clarksville Academy – was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a student by his throat and pushed him against a wall.The alleged incident happened on March 3 while a group of students were staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville. The police report said that Neitzke was the only adult on the trip.Around 11 p.m., Neitzke was reportedly trying to give students instructions for the next day and had to stop several times to get their attention. That’s when one of the students asked, “can we hurry this up,” and Neitzke allegedly approached the student and started to grab him. Police said Neitzke then said “it would be funny if your head hit the wall” before backing up and then grabbing the student by the neck before pushing him against the wall.The student told officers that he was able to say "get off me" and push him back. He told police that while he had no visible injuries, the squeezing of his neck caused “some discomfort.”Several other students were interviewed and all gave a very similar account of the incident, according to the report.
