Joseph Ruvido, 49, was absent from his arraignment Monday, forcing a judge to issue a bench warrant and revoking his bail of 0,000. According to police, Ruvido was found dead around 4:25 p.m. as officers conducted a welfare check at his Carmel Valley home. Ruvido was charged Monday with two felony counts of arranging a meeting with a minor with sexual intent and one count of attempted lewd acts on a minor between the ages of 14 and 15.The prosecutor won't provide details citing the ongoing investigation, but says the acts were committed July 6th. Police arrested Ruvido at his home in Carmel Valley on July 26th, two days after getting a Crime Stoppers tip. The County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) said it is reaching out to anyone who came in close contact with the child at the K-8 school. Antibiotics are not being recommended for those who are not at risk. “While meningococcal disease can be serious and deadly, it is not spread through casual contact. Therefore, the risk to those who were not in close, direct contact is minimal,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County public health officer. “We want to make sure students are up to date on immunizations and are asking people in the school community to look for the signs and symptoms of the disease.” Meningococcal disease is caused by a bacteria and spread through close contact including sharing drinking glasses, eating utensils, and smoking or vaping equipment. The bacteria can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness. Symptoms include fever, headache, sensitivity to light and noise, a stiff neck, and a rash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A water main break Monday forced San Diego firefighters to evacuate Point Loma neighbors due to a potential hillside collapse.The break happened about 2:30 p.m. on Larga Circle near Leland St. The residential area is just west of the Vons shopping center on Midway Drive.According to SDFD, 10 homes were evacuated due to the break. The broken water main is on a slope between homes at the top and bottom of the slope. At least one home had flooding to the garage.City engineers are being called to the scene. 545
