A video of a woman who was allegedly resisting arrest while being beaten by police officers on a New Jersey beach on Saturday has been shared 1,000s of times since being published. Emily Weinman, a resident of Philadelphia, claimed that officers questioned her about underage drinking while she was on a beach in Wildwood, New Jersey. Weinman claimed that she was given an alcohol breath test, which came back negative. Weinman added in a Facebook post that the officers from the Wildwood, New Jersey Police were going to let her go, but when she asked officers why they were enforcing underage drinking rather than more serious crimes, that is when the officers had a change of heart. Weinman said that officers asked for her to identify herself, which she refused to do. Weinman claims an officer said, "I was gonna let you go but now I'll write you up." 894

A San Francisco salon owner says she is “done” with the city and plans to close her shop permanently following backlash and controversy this last week after a video of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi inside the salon without a mask surfaced.Owner Erica Kious announced her decision Wednesday night on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show.Kious owns ESalonSF in San Francisco. She says one of her stylists, who is an independent contractor, told her Speaker Pelosi was coming in for an appointment on August 31. Salons in San Francisco have been closed since March, and were told they could reopen for outdoor services on September 1.Kious released the video of Pelosi’s visit, showing the Speaker with wet hair and not wearing a mask at the time, the day after her appointment.Pelosi responded to the video saying her team had been told it was OK to come inside to have her hair done, and that she felt the incident was “a set-up.” A statement released by the stylist who did her hair reportedly agrees it was a set-up, and states he had gotten permission from Kious verbally the night before the appointment.ABC7 in the Bay Area reports some stylists at ESalonSF have quit, claiming Kious’ made them work during the pandemic in unsafe conditions.The video of Pelosi sparked reaction from a lot of people; including fellow stylists and salon owners, business owners in California, and President Donald Trump, among others. A Philadelphia police officer who was seen on video pulling down the masks of protesters and spraying chemical irritants in their faces was charged Wednesday with simple assault, reckless endangerment, official oppression, and possession of an instrument of crime, the Philadelphia Inquirer and CNN report.Officer Richard P. Nicoletti, 35, turned himself in on Wednesday.The charges against Nicoletti stem from a June 1 Black Lives Matter protest, when demonstrators blocked I-676 in Philadelphia. Bystander video showed Nicoletti — who was acting as part of the Philadelphia Police SWAT team — approaching three protesters who were kneeling and sitting on the ground.The video shows Nicoletti pull down the demonstrators' masks and spray pepper spray in their faces. He also shoved one of the protesters. The District Attorney's statement claimed Nicoletti sprayed the protesters "without provocation."None of the demonstrators were arrested.According to CNN, the Philadelphia Police Department reviewed the bystander video and opened an investigation on June 24.The officer's lawyer, Fortunato Perri Jr., said Nicoletti was simply following orders."His unit was ordered by commanders to clear the highway with the approved use of tear gas and pepper spray," Perri said, according ot the Inquirer.
