The Philippine side is ready to deepen the relations of comprehensive strategic cooperation with China on the basis of mutual respect, mutual understanding and sovereign equality, strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, defense, health, drug control, improvement of livelihood, infrastructure construction and energy, as well as expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges in education and human resources.
The document also stipulated cooperation between China and the Philippines in other areas including defense, health, counter-terrorism, science and technology, tourism and education.
Li highlighted the role of basic research as the root of the scientific system, calling for strengthened long-term and consistent support for basic research, and urging enterprises and other social forces to invest more in this field.
The permanent representatives said they appreciated China's safeguarding of multilateralism, its support to the U.N., and its outstanding contribution to U.N. peacekeeping operations and to promotion of global development. They expressed willingness to work with China to safeguard international peace and security.
