TAMPA, Fla. — Several areas of Tampa Bay are assessing the damage left behind from a squall of storms that produced tornadoes on both sides of Tampa Bay.At least three tornado warnings were issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk Counties.The NWS believes there were tornadoes in Pinellas Park, along the Howard Frankland Bridge and near Kathleen.The National Weather Service said at 4:08 p.m., a “confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado” was located over the Howard Frankland Bridge, southwest of Tampa. It was moving northeast at 35 mph.Pinellas Park Police say at least 25 structures were damaged by the storm. It aims to track cases not only in schools here— but across the nation, from kindergarten to college."Pretty much everybody was like, 'this doesn't exist … this does not exist,'" Jones said. "I was like, 'OK, let's build it.'"The site sweeps up COVID-19 data from across the web. Things like press releases, news stories, info from health departments and more. Students around the United States are walking out of class to demand tougher gun laws in response to last week's deadly shooting in Parkland, Florida, but some schools are threatening them with harsh punishments.The Needville Independent School District in Texas issued a warning Tuesday that anyone who participated in a walkout or other political protest would be suspended for three days."Life is all about choices and every choice has a consequence whether it be positive or negative. We will discipline no matter if it is one, fifty, or five hundred students involved. All will be suspended for 3 days and parent notes will not alleviate the discipline," Superintendent Curtis Rhodes said in a statement posted on the Needville High School Facebook page.Rhodes said the Houston-area district would not tolerate any protests or demonstrations during school hours."A school is a place to learn and grow educationally, emotionally and morally. TAMPA, Florida — Police said they got a big win Friday night after they were able to arrest a man wanted in connection to installing credit card skimming devices across the Tampa Bay area.Police on scene told ABC Action News they were able to take the skimmer into evidence after a customer at the Chase Bank at 2001 N. Dale Mabry pulled it off the drive-up ATM while getting cash out.That customer flagged an officer down and showed him the skimmer. What that customer didn’t know is that undercover officers were already in pursuit of the man. Officers on scene say he was wanted by multiple agencies.The man, who has been identified as Yanier Manso Caballero from Hialeah, ditched his black Mercedes in the McDonald’s parking lot next to the bank, kicked off his flip flops, and took off running as officers tried to make an arrest.The police helicopter was able to lead K-9 officers to a heat signature of a man inside a shed on West Cherry Street, about a quarter mile away from the bank. The man was taken into custody a short time later.The customer that found the skimmer told officers on scene that he saw at least two other customers get cash out before he found the skimming device. There is no information, at this point, about how long the device might have been on the ATM. 1305
