A revised lawsuit says the U.S. Census Bureau was able to claim it had reached 99.9% of households because census takers were pressured to falsify data in order to close cases. The amended lawsuit was filed Tuesday by a coalition of advocacy groups and local governments. It says 2020 census takers sometimes guessed the number of people living in a household or lied that residents had refused to answer questions. A Polk County, Florida woman was arrested earlier this month after she reportedly brought "her meth" with her to a doctor's office to have it tested. Barbara Ray, 73, of Polk County, told the staff at the doctor's office that she had been taking meth for about a month, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. She said she brought the drugs with her so that she and "her meth" could be tested to make sure all was well. The Sheriff's Office was called and a deputy responded to the office. The deputy tested the drugs and found it was in fact methamphetamine. Ray was arrested on November 5. She was charged with 2 counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, and 2 counts of Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. She was booked into the Polk County Jail on Monday, November 5, 2018 and released on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.  864

A Pennsylvania woman is accused of stabbing an 8-day-old baby last week, claiming the child was created "by the devil," WPXI-TV reported.According to WPXI, Tanishia Fielder, 32, was charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault after a man reported to police that he and the infant were stabbed by Fielder.Both the man and infant survived the incident, but their exact conditions were not disclosed. Fielder reportedly stabbed the infant near the baby's right eye. Fielder told police that God told her to kill the infant and dismember the body. The police said they found the knife hidden beneath a garbage bin behind the apartment building, WPXI reported.The man involved told police he and Fielder got into an argument earlier in the day and he saw her with a knife. 826

A Texas jail guard suffered a heart attack two years ago, and if not for a group of inmates, he could have lost his life, WFAA-TV reported.Gary Grimm of Weatherford, Texas is thankful for those inmates who gave the now 52-year-old retired jail guard a second-chance at life."Instead of overtaking me and taking my gun, and killing me or taking a hostage and escaping, they looked at me as a human being," Grimm told WFAA. The inmates reportedly had to knock down a locked gate to get to Grimm after they realized he was having a medical emergency. The group of eight inmates were able to get the attention of others in the jail, who were able to help Grimm seek medical attention. Grimm never got the opportunity to personally thank the inmates as they were transferred to other institutions."I get emotional. If they wished harm for me, all they had to do was sit there and do nothing," Grimm told WFAA. Grimm said he treated inmates the way he would want to be treated. Perhaps, that is why they came to his aid when he needed it."I don't care if they're a drug user, hot check writer, or child molester. They're still a human being. I don't have to like what they did, but it's not my position to be the judge and jury," Grimm told the station. 1275
