SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police officers responded to a call from a Pacific Beach woman who recorded a confrontation with a solicitor claiming to be a charity worker.Sarah Jarzabek said she began recording the incident at around 3 p.m. Saturday when the man became increasingly aggressive toward her and her neighbor."Scared to death, honestly," Jarzabek told 10News, after reflecting on the incident. Jarzabek and her friend Emily Herton were watching a movie at her home when a stranger knocked on her door. "He said that he came from Ohio, from Cleveland," Herton told 10News. "He said he was trying to raise money for some missionary work for children."The women admit they thought it was a joke but as the man continued with his story claiming to be a missionary and spreading God's love, they felt something did not seem right."He had four different I.D.s behind his one I.D.," Jarzabek said. When she told him that they did not have cash to give, she said the man angrily left her front door and marched toward her neighbor's home. That is when she started to record him on her phone. "I was going to warn [the neighbor], and then the guy, he flips a switch," Jarzabek said. The 12-second video shows the man lunging toward Jarzabek trying to cover the camera then take multiple swings. "He chases me across the street, and screaming that he's going to kill me," Jarzabek said. Jarzabek said she and Herton barricaded themselves inside her home and called 911. San Diego Police told 10News that the man was gone by the time an officer responded. An SDPD spokesperson says that because the man did not actually touch Jarzabek, officers did not file an official report. After the incident, Jarzabek posted the video on Facebook and recruited the help of their local Guardian Angels. Within hours, many people replied on the post about their recent encounters with the same man.The people commenting on the post said he was some sort of charity worker describing himself as a Christian missionary, domestic abuse organization volunteer, or reformed criminal organization volunteer. Commenters also described the man becoming confrontational when they refused to give him money. Other commenters claim to have seen him scoping out neighborhoods in Ocean Beach and other San Diego communities. Jarzabek hopes her post raises awareness about dealing with questionable door-to-door solicitors."It takes a lot to make me feel endangered, and this guy literally shook me," said Jarzabek.San Diego Police said they would like to speak with the man in the video. In the meantime, they encourage residents to place "No Soliciting" signs on their front doors. 2671

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) San Diego Police are investigating the discovery of three bodies found in the trunk of a parked car in Bay Terraces. Police found the bodies in a car parked on Jaime Avenue at Doti Point Drive after a neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle just before five pm Sunday. According to police, the bodies are that of two women and a man, possibly in their late teens or early twenties. They say the bodies were in such poor condition. They were unable to determine race. The medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death and their identities. Neighbors say the car was parked on the street for three days, but that's not uncommon.“A lot of people will park and they will walk to those apartments behind here or they park and they go to someone’s house over here, so it’s not really that suspicious," said Kevin Totten. Totten grew up in the neighborhood. He said it's usually quiet and is home to mainly families."It seems like someone did what they did, to these three innocent people and drove around and was looking for a spot to dump a car with three bodies in it," said Totten. After neighbors started noticing an odor, one of them called police Sunday evening."Once the wind would kind of blow, you can smell like, it’s hard to explain. I’ve never smelled that before. I thought well maybe it was like trash, but then a more pungent odor than that," said one mom who didn't want to be identified. The woman said once police arrived she noticed fluids coming from the car. "Once the police were here and they were kind of looking to see what was going on you could see the car and what looked like blood dripping from it. I’m like do I need counseling? Do my kids need counseling? It’s a lot to take in,” said the woman. Police aren't releasing any information about the investigation. Neighbors say the car was an older model BMW either silver or gray in color. They also said it had out of state plates. "Whomever the victims are, the families, hopefully they can figure who they are and sort of bring closure to them," said the woman. 2085

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric says more than 21,000 residents could lose power amid a coming Santa Ana wind event. The company said Saturday it notified thousands of residents about the possibility of power outages to reduce wildfire risk both Monday and Tuesday. The outages could take place in south Orange County and north San Diego County. Click here to see a map of areas that could be affected.“The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for inland Orange County for 2 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday, and it has indicated that ‘any rainfall that occurs this weekend will not delay the fire weather potential for very long on early Monday,’” the company said.SDG&E says most Santa Ana winds come from the east and sweep through San Diego County’s backcountry. This event, however, is forecast to come from the north, affecting urban and coastal areas that don’t normally see public safety power outages.“Within SDG&E’s service territory, the strongest winds are expected overnight Sunday through Monday in the San Clemente and east San Juan Capistrano areas in south Orange County and the Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Pala Reservation and Fallbrook areas in north San Diego County,” SDG&E said.Drive-thru community resource centers will be available starting at 8 a.m. Monday at the Fallbrook Branch Library, 124 S. Mission Road, Fallbrook, and Vista Hermosa Sports Park, 987 Avenida Vista Hermosa in San Clemente.Due to elevated fire weather conditions and forecasted Santa Ana winds coming from the north, we have notified ~21K residents that we may turn off power to reduce wildfire risk Mon. & Tues. in south Orange County and north San Diego.
