SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are searching for the person who fired a gun into a group of people injuring two teens late Saturday night.Two groups of people began arguing just before midnight at the corner of 30th Street and J Street in the Grant Hill neighborhood, about a block away from Kimbrough Elementary School.The gunman pulled out a handgun and shot a 16-year-old boy in the left calf and a 18-year-old male in the right ankle, authorities said.A possible third shooting victim was located at an area hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to police. No further information was given at this time.The incident is being investigated as gang-related shooting, police said.The suspect, who was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark shorts, fled in an unknown direction, police said. 831

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County remained on the state’s COVID-19 monitoring list as of Monday, but Gov. Gavin Newsom said during a news conference that the county could be dropped from the list by Tuesday.Sunday, Aug. 16, was the fifth consecutive day San Diego County reported fewer than 100 positive coronavirus tests.State and county officials have said counties would be removed from the monitoring list if rates remain below 100 positive cases per 100,000 people for three straight days.Of the state's 58 counties, 42 remain on that list; five counties were added, with Santa Cruz County falling off Aug. 14."This is a dynamic list. People come on, people come off, the numbers shift every single week," Newsom said Monday. "I anticipate this week the numbers to shift again and it looks like, all things being equal and the latest reporting period -- 24-hour reporting period, which we will have later this evening -- it's very likely San Diego will join the list of those counties removed. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Rep. Susan Davis of the 53rd Congressional District won’t seek re-election in 2020, the Congresswoman announced Wednesday. Davis was first elected to Congress in 2000. “I have struggled to make this very difficult decision. I will not seek another term in Congress. My decision today represents a desire to live and work ‘at home’ in San Diego,” she said. Davis is currently the second highest-ranking Democrat on both the House Education and Labor Committee and the House Armed Service Committee. Among measures recently supported by Davis is the Green New Deal, introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She also helped spearhead the repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell,” a Clinton-era policy which allowed LGTBQ people to serve in the military only if they remained in the closet.“It makes us a better military, a better country, and I was very happy to be a part of that,” said Davis.So far, only two other candidates have officially entered the race. Jose Caballero, a Navy veteran, filed earlier this year and has raised ,900 as of June.Joaquín Vázquez, the son of undocumented immigrants, has also filed to run, but has not submitted any fundraising documents yet to the FEC.Both are Democrats with no previous experience as elected officials.In 2018, Davis faced off against Republican challenger, Morgan Murtaugh, beating her by a nearly 40% margin. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego FBI agents are asking the public for help find a suspect who robbed a bank in the College Area Wednesday.The man, described as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s and standing about 6-feet tall, entered a Union Bank branch in the 6000 block of El Cajon Blvd. at about 11 a.m. Investigators say the man handed a teller a demand note and received an undisclosed amount of cash.
