UPDATE 8:54 p.m. - Nov. 9, 2019SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Police Department has called off Saturday's Amber Alert after determining that the man who reported his vehicle stolen with a child inside filed a false report.The man told officers that his acquaintance, 29-year-old Osman Rahimi, drove off in his vehicle with an 11-year-old inside, according to SDPD Lt. Shawn Takeuchi.The man described the boy, named Johnny Diaz, as a Hispanic child, 4 feet tall, wearing a white shirt and “Transformers” pajama pants."Detectives contacted the California Highway Patrol to put out an Amber Alert in an effort to find the boy," said Takeuchi.Oceanside Police Department officers located the vehicle and Rahimi near the Aliso Creek Rest Area but the child was not with Rahimi."SDPD officers took custody of Rahimi and transported him to SDPD headquarters along with the man who made the report, and the Amber Alert was cancelled," said Takeuchi.Takeuchi said they conducted numerous interviews and determined that no child was involved. Detectives are still working to determine if Rahimi is responsible for stealing the car.The man who made the report, who has not yet been identified, may also face charged of filing a false report, according to Takeuchi."While it appears the original report was false, the mission of our department is to protect all life," said Takeuchi. "We appreciate the efforts of our community to find the child and are grateful for the support from our law enforcement partners."---------------------UPDATE 5:45 P.M. -- Nov. 9, 2019SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Detectives are working quickly to find clues in the alleged abduction of an 11-year-old boy who was snatched outside of a San Diego gas station that prompted a countywide Amber Alert on Saturday.San Diego Police Department detectives said the boy, Johnny Diaz, was abducted sometime around 11 a.m. outside the Valero gas station at Euclid and Geneva avenues, just south of the Martin Luther King Jr. Hwy 94 ramps in Southeast San Diego.Specific details about the incident were not immediately known at this time. NEWS HEADLINES: Missing Virginia teen safely located, alleged abductor apprehendedAn Amber Alert was issued Saturday afternoon with a description of a dark-colored 2006 Honda Pilot with California license plate number 5TLG117. At around 3 p.m., Oceanside Police located the vehicle matching the license plate and description. Officers detained a person inside the vehicle but the boy was not found.The person found with the vehicle, Osman Rahimi, 29, is being detained for questioning, police said. Officers are searching the Camp Pendleton area for the boy and another adult, but no further details are known at this time. TUSCON, Ariz. – Nearly million worth of meth, cocaine and heroin were found in a vehicle along the U.S.-Mexican border over the weekend, according to U.S. Border Patrol.Agents say two 18-year-olds were arrested Saturday after attempting to smuggle the narcotics near Rio Rico.Officials say agents were patrolling the desert north of the border when they saw several people emerge from brush and load packages into a parked truck near Pe?a Blanca Lake before departing back into the desert.Minutes later, border patrol says agents conducted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet Silverado in the area. Concealed inside the vehicle, they reportedly found 57 packages of suspected meth, cocaine and heroin, with a street value estimated at about ,889,600.The truck’s driver and passenger, both residents of Rio Rico, were arrested and ultimately turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, along with the seized drugs, to face federal drug charges, according to border patrol.Agents say they were unable to locate the individuals that emerged from the brush. 1072

Two childcare workers have turned themselves into Florida police custody after a video surfaced of them berating, taunting and throwing a backpack at an 8-year-old child with autism.On Sept. 1, Winter Haven PD found out about a Snapchat video showing 26-year-old Kaderrica Smith and then 19-year-old Alexis Henderson taunting, aggravating, yelling at and tripping a student at Our Children's Academy.The 8-year-old is seen and heard in the video crying and hiding underneath a table while Henderson and Smith continue to taunt him.At one point the child tries to run towards one of the workers when she grabs his arms and sweeps his legs out from under him causing him to fall.The video lasts about three minutes and at one point shows one of the workers throwing a backpack at the child, hitting him in the face."There has to be an accountability measure for folks," said Winter Haven Police Chief Charlie Bird. "Especially when they're supposed to be the professionals. They get hired as the professionals, they're being paid as the professionals."In initial interviews, the two said they felt they were acting appropriately and did nothing wrong. Henderson and Smith just received their certification for childcare last month. "Those aren't methods that you can even begin to defend as being used to defuse a situation with an autistic child," said Bird. They were each immediately fired by the faculty and DCF placed a hold on their certifications.The child was interviewed by a DCF Child Protection Team member on Sept. 15 and it was determined the acts were criminal.Police were initially unable to locate the two, thus giving reason to issue a warrant.  1713

Bernie Sanders' son is running for Congress in New Hampshire.Levi Sanders, 48, said in a statement first reported by WMUR and since posted on his campaign website that he is entering the open-seat race to replace retiring Democratic Rep. UPDATE: San Diego Police reported Monday morning that Rafol was safe and with his family.ALLIED GARDENS (CNS) - San Diego police were today asking the public for help locating a man known to have a mental condition who was reported missing.Benjamin Rafol, 26, was last seen at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday when he left on foot from the Verge apartment complex at 6850 Mission Gorge Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.Rafol has mental issues including schizophrenia and psychosis, said SDPD Lt. Dan Sullivan.Rafol is not from the area and does not have a cell phone or a car.He is described as a Filipino male, 5 feet-8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark gray Volcom t-shirt, light gray pants, black Nike shoes and a black Hurley baseball hat. 793
