According to our reporting partner, Televisa, 15,000 troops will be at the U.S. border Monday morning.Earlier in June, Mexican authorities announced they were sending hundreds of troops to it's southern border to keep migrants from entering from Guatemala. All this in an effort to curb rampant migration."It's exploded without a solution," Foreign Affairs National Security Analyst Ron Bee said. "It's the Mexican response to the threat of tariffs made by President Trump. if they don't do enough to stop Central Americans from entering their country, and traveling across Mexico and entering our country."Televisa tells 10News that 500 troops will patrol from Calexico to Tijuana. There will be a ceremony Sunday in Mexico City."If they [troops] come across illegal immigrants they'll have to apprehend them and take them to a facility to hold onto them until they decide what to do," Bee said, whether that's sending them back home or allowing them to apply for asylum.Mexico already ramped up pressure on migrants, by cutting funding to overflowing migrant shelters, "shelters in Mexico have less access to resources, they are receiving hundreds and hundreds more people than before. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Dozens of San Diegans are calling on the City Council to take action after they say a decision to let people live in their cars is creating homeless camps in their neighborhoods. Sarah Bonesteel has lived in the Pacific Beach area for 20 years. “It’s ruining the neighborhoods,” Bonesteel. Lately, she says camps of people living in their vehicles are destroying the lifestyle for people who live in the area. “It can be 5 or 6 of them all together on a block. I pay a lot to live here by the beach, and it’s ruining the environment.”It’s been about a month since San Diego’s City Council voted to repeal a decades-old ordinance that prohibited people from living in vehicles on city streets. Now, it’s legal again and some residents aren’t happy about it. “There’s pedophiles close to the schools, we can’t take kids to the library anymore. Off the 94 near Webster, RVs and giant vans line the street, one even equipped with a satellite dish. Frustrated San Diegans like Bonesteel have even created a coalition to try to fight the change. Another man says teachers at a local preschool are extremely concerned. In Ocean Beach, one woman captured a photo of a dilapidated school bus. “We’re trying to compile information, pictures of it all, so that we have it documented.”Some people living in their RVs told 10News off camera that they don’t have any other options. But how far has the repeal gone? 10News found people on Airbnb trying to rent out vans with “an ocean view.”“We had joked about them maybe doing that, and then there’s been ads and it’s like holy crap, they’re actually going to rent it out,” Bonesteel said. “This is going too far.”Bonesteel has a message for San Diego’s City Council. “Please think about what you’ve done.”10News tried to reach out to councilmembers about the issue, but haven’t heard back. It's the Port of San Diego's first comprehensive update in nearly 40 years, aiming to reflect changes in the needs and priorities of the region. The Port manages 34 miles of San Diego Bay and Waterfront along Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City, and San Diego. When the Port published the proposed master plan in April, several communities voiced major concerns; two of the most vocal being Coronado and Point Loma residents. "We have this little slice of history, and I think it's our obligation to preserve, so it's enjoyed generations to come," said Cameron Lilley, a multi-generational Point Loma native.For months, Lilley has been garnering community support in opposition to some of the proposals impacting Shelter Island. "We started digging into it and quickly realized that there were so many points that really didn't consider the locals in the restructure of our community," said Lilley.
