An aspiring dancer from Alabama thought she would be ticketed — or worse — by a Birmingham police officer after he approached her about dancing in the middle of a street.Lala Diore, who has been dancing since she was 3, according to WBRC-TV in Birmingham, was filming an audition video to send to singer Janet Jackson while Officer Philip Jones was driving by.According to Diore's Facebook post, Jones told Diore that she shouldn't be in the middle of the street, but quickly changed his tune."So you are risking getting hurt for this," Jones asked, according to Diore's Facebook post. "...okay I’ll stop traffic for you and cut my lights on, show me what you got."Jones then blocked traffic with his cruiser, and turned up his headlights to help Diore get the shot. "This has actually showed the world and the community that police officers are not just out here to harass people or that we’re being mean and uptight," Jones told WBRC. An Elkhorn, Nebraska man accused of sending prostitutes to his neighbor's house was sentenced to four years in prison.Doug Goldsberry pleaded no contest to one count of pandering in September. On Friday, a Douglas County judge gave him the maximum penalty.The judge says Goldsberry's "screening process" by seeing how far he could get the women to go was a concern for the court.Investigators were called to a home in March. The homeowners told deputies with the Douglas County Sheriffs Office they were fearful because women identifying themselves as escorts or prostitutes had been exposing themselves and demanding money.The complaint says a family with two small children lived at the house and the women would go on their porch and strip down or lift their shirts off, and one woman urinated in their bushes.Deputies conducted surveillance and brought in two women who were seen exposing themselves at the home. The complaint says investigators were able to determine through phone records Goldsberry, who lives across the street, had sent the women and would tell them to commit the acts so he knew they weren't undercover officers.According to the complaint, Goldsberry told investigators he would watch the girls out of his kitchen window, which faced his neighbor's porch, and sometimes take pictures and would become sexually aroused. He also told investigators he would meet prostitutes at hotels, the complaint says. 1451

An F-16 fighter jet intercepted a plane that was flying in a restricted area during President Trump's rally in Bullhead City, Arizona, Wednesday afternoon.North American Aerospace Defense Command officials say the plane was intercepted around 2 p.m. after officials noticed it had entered the Temporary Flight Restriction area surrounding Bullhead City.Officials say the violating aircraft did not respond to initial intercept procedures, but established radio communications after NORAD aircraft deployed signal flares.Authorities say the aircraft was escorted out of the restricted area by the F-16 without further incident. 634

Hinkle ruled that a state law signed by Gov. It's running out of room, and is now considering restricting who can be buried there.“Arlington National Cemetery is just so special. Around here we say every day is Memorial Day,” said Karen Durham-Aguilera, the executive director of Army National Military Cemeteries.  “Without a change, every veteran who served in a Gulf War conflict, that's Iraq, Afghanistan and all the other conflicts we've been in since then, will not have the honor of coming here, even if they're medal of honor recipients."The cemetery holds more than 7,000 burials a year, or about 30 a day.With aging veterans and on-going conflicts, the cemetery is running out room and, if nothing changes, they'll run out of space in the next twenty years or so. Unable to expand much more, the cemetery is now looking at putting new restrictions on who can be buried there.On its website, the cemetery is now taking a survey asking the public for input on which veterans should get priority. For example: those killed in action, retired veterans, or those who received high honors, like a Purple Heart or Medal of Valor.“Anybody can take it. It's very narrowly focused, saying what do people want us to do."
