I realized that she was talking about me, not to kill me," Booker said.Booker said he and some friends went to watch the lunar eclipse on the 4th of July at Lake Monroe. A group of men informed them the route they were taking to get to the public access beach was on private property but then things got hostile, leaving Booker with a minor concussion, abrasions and patches of hair ripped out."What went through my mind was I could be the next person like that or I could be the next hashtag," Booker said.What saved his life, Booker said, was his friends along with bystanders that heard the commotion and demanded the attackers let him go, refusing to leave."They stayed. It made a difference," Booker said. "I wasn't going to be a Black person that died and heard my own death narrated in front of me.""Horrified," Shelli Yoder, Democratic candidate for Indiana Senate District 40, said. "I am horrified, not surprised, but disgusted.""My heart is breaking for our town," Nicole Bolden, Bloomington city clerk, said. "This is Bloomington. And I know people love to say this doesn't happen in Bloomington. It does. TAMPA, Fla. -- With a mandatory mask order underway in the city of Tampa, Will Rivera made sure every customer covered up when inside GNC on South Howard Avenue. "You can’t keep social distancing inside the store because it’s a very small location, it’s not possible. You have more than two, three customers in there, it’s definitely not possible so the safest thing to do is wear a mask," said Rivera. Rivera said he was fired last week for turning away customers not wearing face coverings. Rivera says his district manager stepped in, stating they would not lose sales over the mask mandate. "This is a store founded on health and wellness and it seems like there’s no care of health and wellness of individuals that come into the store, other than profit," said Rivera. Michigan's new cyberbullying law will go into effect on March 27. Public Act 457 of 2018, sponsored by Rep. Pete Lucido (R-Shelby Township), formally defines cyberbullying as a misdemeanor. It states that cyberbullying is a crime punishable by 93 days in jail or a fine of up to 0. BOULDER, Colo. — The COVID-19 outbreak at the University of Colorado Boulder is now the largest in the state, with 1,198 positive cases among students and 104 with probable cases of the virus, according to the latest outbreak data released by state officials Wednesday.Twelve staffers have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the data.CU Boulder on Wednesday switched to fully-remote classes for at least the next two weeks, as university officials work to curb the spread of COVID-19 among students, with cases on the rise and isolation spaces dwindling on campus.Philip DiStefano, CU Boulder chancellor, said in a statement Monday that the move was "in the immediate interest" of the campus community's health. Students are being asked to remain in university housing, and employees will work remotely, if possible.University provost Russell Moore said in a news conference Monday that officials have seen fewer COVID-19 cases in recent days, but "unfortunately, the number of cases is not dropping enough."Students can now face a 10-day suspension — or longer — for violating COVID-19 protocols.
