SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Fire Urban Search and Rescue task force is on their way to Hawaii to prepare for Hurricane Lane's landfall.The hurricane could bring as many as 20 inches of rain onshore and winds of more than 100 miles per hour.The search and rescue task force is traveling with 55,000 pounds of equipment, hoping to get ahead of the hurricane before it makes landfall.The crew will land in Kauai and then get deployed to wherever help is needed. For the first 72-hours, they must be completely self-sufficient, relying on MRE's and having enough water to survive.The team could be in Hawaii for as long as three weeks but it's expected they will return in 14 days. 692

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a door-to-door solicitor who has prompted a string of complaints about threatening outbursts and who was seen on video taking swings at a woman in Pacific Beach.Corey Lamont Terry, 45, is wanted on felony charges of making criminal threats and attempted burglary, according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this month, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.Police have been investigating Terry since at least early November, after “several” people complained about Terry’s aggressive language while soliciting money door-to-door, according to SDPD Lt. Shawn Takeuchi.Takeuchi urged the public to call their local police agency if they spot Terry, who is about 6 feet tall and weighs roughly 220 pounds. He said residents should not approach him based on his past behavior.Terry has canvassed neighborhoods in Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach in recent weeks, claiming he is raising money for charity. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County is no longer abnormally dry, according to a new report from the U.S. Drought Monitor. The report shows a large swath of Southern California having no drought. Most of California, however, remains abnormally dry, according to the report. According to the National Weather Service, the San Diego International Airport measured nearly four inches of rain since October 1st. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County sheriff's deputies fished a man out of the ocean in Del Mar who they say rammed a Border Patrol truck at the end of a dangerous chase.According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's North Coastal Station, it all started when deputies tried to pull the man over in a blue Smart car driving with no lights or a license plate.The driver failed to stop and took out a road sign then drove the wrong way down Coast Boulevard in Del Mar around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.A few minutes later, the man crashed into a Border Patrol truck at the dead-end of 15th Street. No one was inside the truck at the time.Border Patrol agents spotted the driver running towards the beach.The man jumped over the bluffs' edge and plunged naked into the water, where he spent two hours in the surf.He was taken into custody after he was fished out of the ocean by a Border Patrol boat around 4:15 a.m.Deputies are currently attempting to identify the suspect. 982

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping after a man reportedly tried to grab a woman holding an infant in La Jolla Wednesday afternoon.Police say the woman was on the 5100 block of La Jolla Hermosa Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when a man walked by and grabbed her arm as she held a 1-year-old.The man then left the area on a bicycle that didn’t have any tires before ditching the bike and running away on foot.The woman, identified as the child’s nanny, received a scratch on her arm, but the baby is uninjured, police say.The suspect was arrested after running into the water and floating. Lifeguards helped police get the man out of the water. Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Michael Hudson. Jail records show Hudson was booked on four counts, including felony kidnapping and battery.Hudson is being held on 0,000 bail. An Oct. 30 date has been scheduled for his arraignment. 935
