(KGTV) -- Margaret Wardlow doesn’t dwell on what happened to her one night in 1977 - a night that she became victim number 27 of the Golden State Killer. Just because she doesn’t dwell on it, doesn’t mean she doesn’t remember. Wardlow was the youngest of the serial man's victims, just 13 when she was tied up in her Sacramento home and raped.On Wednesday Joseph James DeAngelo, 72, was arrested in connection with a series of killings, rapes and burglaries that occurred around the state in the 1970s and ‘80s. Authorities from jurisdictions across California gathered in Sacramento to announce the arrest of a suspect in the decades-long East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer case.RELATED: Suspect identified, arrested in East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer caseIt's an arrest that brought back the memories of that night for Wardlow. She says at first, she had no idea her attacker was the Golden State Killer - aka the east area rapist, aka the original night stalker in her home. It wasn't until she looked up at the clock and saw it was 2:30 a.m. that she realized who he was.  "'This is the east area rapist, and this is what’s going on,'" she recalls thinking. "It was time for me to realize, ‘I’m dealing with a serial rapist.'”The man also tied up her mom, stacking plates on top of her so he would know if she moved.What he didn't know about Wardlow is that before her attack, she was on top of every story that came out in the newspaper about him. Knowing that he seemed to thrive on powerless victims, when he asked in a harsh whisper, ‘Do you want to die? "I can choose whether I own that or not, and I don’t own it.”Wardlow says she never knew if the day would come that someone would be found and arrested. (KGTV) — Newly released video shows the moment a Portland high school coach disarmed a student who brought a loaded shotgun to school in May.Keanon Lowe, Parkrose High School's head football and track coach, was in a classroom full of students when the gunman, identified as Angel Granados Dias, came in with shotgun on May 17, 2019, according to Portland police.In the video, Lowe brings Dias into a school hallway after appearing to disarm the student. Lowe is seen holding the shotgun before handing it off to another staff member. The coach continues to hold the student and embrace him in a hug, as the staff member leaves with the firearm and students flee from the classroom.Lowe, a former Oregon Ducks football player and NFL coach, says he lunged for the gun with both hands inside the classroom when he realized what was happening.The coach said he told Dias he was there for him and that his life was worth saving. Investigators say Dias was suffering a mental health crisis and only intended to hurt himself, Portland ABC-affiliate KATU reported."Then it was just me and that student. It was a real emotional time. It was emotional for him, it was emotional for me," Lowe told KATU in May. "In that time, I felt compassion for him. (KGTV) - The California Department of Vehicles is reaching out to state residents to make sure they have a valid REAL ID ahead of the 2020 federal deadline. REAL ID cardholders who presented only one residency document when they applied must confirm their address by mail, DMV officials say. The DMV sent 3.6 million letters to cardholders, asking them to verify their mailing address and return the letter to the agency. Anyone who lost or did not receive a letter by Aug. 15 can request one through an online form, DMV officials say. Starting Oct. 1, 2020, all travelers must present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or other TSA-approved identification, such as a passport or military ID, to fly within the United States. 736

(KGTV) - While Amazon customers have it fairly easy when it comes to returning items, the tech giant is only willing to go so far.Some Amazon customers have received emails notifying them they have been banned and cannot create a new account due to the number of returns they have made, according to the Wall Street Journal.Former Amazon managers told the WSJ they close accounts over activities including "requesting too many refunds" or "sending back the wrong items or violating other rules.""We have closed this account because you have consistently returned a large number of your orders. While we expect the occasional problem with an order, we cannot continue to accept returns at this rate," a 2015 email to an Amazon customer read.Others told the paper that Amazon asked them about their returns, despite providing a reason previously on the website.
