Georgina Chapman, the estranged wife of Harvey Weinstein, is speaking out for the first time since her husband was accused by more than 80 women of sexual misconduct.In an interview with Vogue, Chapman maintains that she had no knowledge of the alleged sexual harassment or assaults, and didn't even realize he was unfaithful in their own marriage.Weinstein has repeatedly denied any allegations of "non-consensual sex.""That's what makes this so incredibly painful: I had what I thought was a very happy marriage. And then the stories expanded and I realized that this wasn't an isolated incident. And I knew that I needed to step away and take the kids out of here."Chapman married Weinstein in 2007 and together they have two young children. She announced in October that she was leaving Weinstein."I have moments of rage, I have moments of confusion, I have moments of disbelief!" Chapman said. "And I have moments when I just cry for my children. What are their lives going to be? What are people going to say to them? It's like, they love their dad. They love him. I just can't bear it for them!"Chapman, the co-founder of high-end fashion house, Marchesa, said she's made it a point not to attend public events or even be spotted out since October."I was so humiliated and so broken,"she said. "I didn't think it was respectful to go out. I thought, who am I to be parading around with all of this going on? It's still so very, very raw. I was walking up the stairs the other day and I stopped; it was like all the air had been punched out of my lungs."The scandal also led to her decision to cancel the Marchesa runway show in January."We didn't feel it was appropriate given the situation," Chapman added. "All the women who have been hurt deserve dignity and respect, so I want to give it the time it deserves. HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Summer time for middle school students usually means taking a break from lessons and learning, but not for one 11-year-old girl in Virginia.London Hart is actually diving deeper into our country's history and studying recent events, including protests against racial injustice."Back when the protests started after the George Floyd incident, I was having a conversation my with parents about what was really going on and what was happening. They were telling me all about racism," said London.It's a conversation London said was very upsetting."Just because you're a minority, doesn't mean you should be treated unfairly. It made me unhappy that that was happening," said London.So the budding artist picked up her canvas and paintbrush and expressed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement the best way she knows how -- by painting.Then she turned those paintings into t-shirt designs."A bunch of people were really happy that I started this movement with the t-shirts and everybody was buying them and buying them and buying them," said London.London's "Support Shirts" campaign was shared so much online that it blew up."At first, I only expected to sell like 15 shirts at the most. GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Several dozen students interrupted an event featuring actress Jenna Fischer at DePauw University Tuesday to protests recent racial incidents on and near campus.Many of them held signs with things claiming they are "afraid for their lives" after recent events. Fischer, star of the sicoms "The Office" and "Splitting Up Together" was at the university to discuss her new book, "The Actor's Life: A Survivor's Guide."University Spokesman Ken Owen, who was moderating the lecture with Fischer, said about 15 minutes into the program a group of students got up and began interrupting the event whistling, shouting and saying they were afraid for their safety on campus because of the recent racial incidents. Last week, a hateful message was found written in a bathroom at the university. The message, which read " All ******* must die -KKK," was written on a bathroom wall of the Inn at DePauw, a public building on campus. Another anti-Semitic and homophobic messages were also found. The video above was captured during the Tuesday evening protests by Shannon Samson. Another event being investigated by the university involves a hateful slur written in rocks at the DePauw nature park, which is owned by the university. Owen said there was a meeting with the school president Tuesday over the events and that have happened up until that point and they expect more meetings in the future. DePauw University issued the following statement on social media after the event.  1573

Good news and bad news from the IRS this July.The good: the agency reopened for business as of July 13th, which means it is now taking phone calls and processing tax filings as quickly as possible.The bad: during a year when every dime counts, the agency says as many as 4.7 million tax refunds will be delayed another few months.Cristy Mack is one of them. She and her husband never wait to file their taxes because she depends on her refund.But like almost five million other people, they still file paper returns because they are most comfortable doing that."We mailed our paper forms at the end of February," she said.But five months later, Mack still doesn't have her refund."A total of 18 weeks have gone by since we mailed in our return," Mack said.She tried calling the IRS, she says, but like countless other taxpayers, ran into a brick wall."They say they aren't taking calls at the moment," she said.Why refunds are taking so long this yearThe IRS's national taxpayer advocate now says as 4.7 million people who filed paper returns will have very late refunds.That's because the agency furloughed thousands of workers this spring and stopped processing paper returns for two months, creating a huge backlog.Paper processing has restarted, but workers are far behind.Mack needs her tax refund badly."It means a lot to us," she said.
