MillerCoors says beer prices could rise and workers could lose their job if the president follows through on a new tax on imported aluminum. President Donald Trump announced Thursday he’s planning to impose steep tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum to protect the U.S. industry from unfair competition. In a statement, MillerCoors called it “misguided” and says there isn’t enough domestic supply to meet the demand for its products. House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday he hopes the president, “will consider the unintended consequences of the new taxes."  593

Lousiana State University is adjusting some restrictions for its football games this season. On Monday, LSU's athletic department said they would stop medical wellness checks at entry gates to reduce lines and wait times."While no longer required for entry, LSU Athletics officials encourage fans to conduct a self-assessment before heading to the game to check for COVID-19 symptoms," officials said in the press release.Officials also announced that alcohol will now be sold at games.Fans must wear a mask when buying alcohol, and can only consume their drinks in their seats, officials said.Officials added that fans must wear masks during the entire game, since "a large percentage of fans removed their masks while in their seats in Tiger Stadium" when the Tigers hosted Mississippi State back in September. 819

March 11 was a day many Americans will remember. It was the when the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic. That same day, the NBA suspended its regular season. It is also when President Donald Trump suspended non-essential travel between Europe and the United States. The world was changing quickly.Earlier in the day, the NCAA announced that its upcoming NCAA Tournament would only be played in front of a TV audience. Conference tournaments continued on that evening, but there was uncertainty on whether they would continue. The next day, the NCAA ended the college basketball season. On Wednesday, college basketball will resume, and in many ways, the situation around the coronavirus has not improved since that March day. On Tuesday, more than 2,000 people died from the coronavirus, and there are currently 88,000 hospitalized with COVID-19, according to the COVID Tracking Project.Despite the challenges of playing amid a pandemic, a majority of Division I college basketball programs are set to start the season, with the first games being played on Wednesday. It probably comes as no surprise, but the virus has already played havoc with the schedule.Games involving six Top 25 teams have been postponed or canceled for Wednesday. The most notable matchup canceled for Wednesday is the game between No. 2 Baylor and No. 18 Arizona State. Arizona State will instead play Rhode Island.College basketball is also working around government regulations. For New Mexico State, the basketball program picked up and moved to Arizona due to local restrictions. While dozens of games have been scrapped for Wednesday, the majority of scheduled contests are expected to go on, but before few if any fans in attendance. 1745

Michael Hayden, a former director of the CIA and National Security Agency, suffered a stroke earlier this week, his family said Friday. In a statement, the family said Hayden, 73, suffered the stroke at his home and was hospitalized but did not provide details about the stroke's severity."He is receiving expert medical care for which the family is grateful," the statement said.CIA Director Gina Haspel offered wishes on behalf of the agency Friday afternoon for a "speedy recovery.""Mike's long career of public service & commitment to national security continue to be an inspiration to all intelligence officers. Our thoughts are with Mike, Jeanine, & their family," Haspel said on Twitter.Hayden, a retired four-star Air Force general who is now a CNN national security analyst, served during both the George W. Bush and Obama administrations. He retired as CIA director in 2009.Since then, he has been a vocal critic of both the Obama and Trump administrations. In 2014, he criticized President Barack Obama's reliance on airstrikes to combat ISIS, saying it showed a lack of commitment, and he said Donald Trump represented a "clear and present danger" during the 2016 campaign.Since Trump took office, Hayden has remained a vocal critic of the President. In August, he said he "would consider it an honor" if Trump revoked his security clearance following the President's decision to pull the access of former CIA Director John Brennan, who also has harshly criticized Trump. 1497
