BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang visited HIV/AIDS medical personnel, volunteers of non-government organizations (NGOs), and people living with HIV ahead of the World AIDS Day which falls on Dec. 1.In the voluntary testing clinic of the Beijing Diseases Prevention and Control Center (CDC), Li said counseling and testing are crucial to the early detection and early treatment of HIV/AIDS, and encouraged the clinic staff to work hard on the very front-line of HIV prevention and control.While visiting NGOs situated in the Beijing CDC, Li greeted people living with HIV and volunteers, shaking hands with them. ATHENS, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The third Forum on the Development of Tibet concluded here on Friday after discussions on efforts to promote the world's understanding of Tibet and enhance the cooperation between China and the rest of the world with regards to Tibet's development.This year marks the 60th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation. During the two-day event, delegates from Greece, Britain, France, Germany, India and Nepal expressed their opinions on Tibet's modernization and put forward valuable advice and suggestions based on their own experience and research findings.Some of the foreign delegates have visited Tibet many times before. LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Turner Network Television (TNT) said it will re-air the Emmy Awards-nominated 1999 television movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley" Thursday night as a tribute to Steve Jobs, Apple's creative co-founder who died overnight.According to the cable television channel, the original drama will be shown at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Pacific Time.Adapted from a bestseller "Fire in the Valley: The Making of The Personal Computer" by Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine, the 95-minute made-for-television docudrama follows the fascinating and unforgettable race between technology rivals Apple Computers and Microsoft, two fledgling computer empires which have literally changed the world in many areas.It stars "ER" and "Falling Skies" actor Noah Wyle as Steve Jobs, Anthony Michael Hall, who played the leading role in the USA Network series "The Dead Zone," as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Joey Slotnick ("Nip/Tuck") as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.The film debuted on TNT in June 1999 and went on to garner five Emmy nominations including Outstanding Made for Television Movie and Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries of Movie.Wyle impersonated Jobs at the 1999 Macworld conference and delivered the opening remarks. VIENNA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- A sculpture of late Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was presented to the UN Office in Vienna (UNOV) Friday to celebrate "50 Years of Human Spaceflight," the theme of the World Space Week 2011.In 1961, Gagarin completed an orbit around the Earth aboard the Vostok 1 spacecraft, serving as a pioneer of human spaceflight.The sculpture is a gift from the Russian government and would be placed at the Permanent Exhibit of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).Attendants of the ceremony include UNOV Director-General Yury Fedotov, UNOOSA Director Mazlan Othman and Head of the Russian Permanent Mission Vladimir Voronkov."Outer space is one of the most exciting and challenging topics, and perhaps of all the important topics on the agenda of the United Nations, none quite captures our imagination like outer space," Othman said in her statement.Meanwhile, speaking highly of Gagarin's achievement 50 years ago, Fedotov stressed that the purpose of the development and utilization of outer space must be to the benefit of all mankind.The UN official said that relevant UN agencies would provide technical assistance to all countries to develop outer space and ensure the benefits in peaceful purpose.On Dec. 6, 1999, the 55th United Nations General Assembly declared the World Space Week to be held every year during Oct. 4-10.
