SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a man they say shot someone outside a liquor store in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood Saturday night.According to police, the incident happened on the 3700 block of Ocean View Boulevard at 10:10 p.m.Police say the suspect approached the 45-year-old man while at the liquor store and started an argument. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the 45-year-old before walking away.The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries by his mother. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — New numbers show almost 40% of people who test positive for COVID-19 in San Diego County are between the ages of 20 and 39.As more businesses begin to open up, more Californians are testing positive for the coronavirus."It really is an alarming trend," Dr. Abisola Olulade, family medicine doctor at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, said.It is a trend affecting everyone, but most noticeably for younger adults between 20 and 39.RELATED: Gov. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a woman suspected of shooting a woman in the Southcrest area Monday morning.San Diego police said officers were called to the 900 block of South 39th Street just after 7 a.m. in response to a person injured in a shooting.Officers arrived to find a woman with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, but her condition is unknown as of 10 a.m.Witnesses told police the suspected shooter, a woman, fled the scene in a silver sedan.Moments after the shooting, the California Highway Patrol received a report of a crash on Interstate 805 near state Route 54 involving the vehicle believed to be driven by the suspected shooter.CHP officials believes the suspected shooter may have been injured in the crash but left the scene.Police are checking to see if the woman sought treatment at any area hospitals. 889

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One of the San Diego Zoo's oldest residents was euthanized due to age-related illnesses Wednesday.The zoo's male African lion, M'bari, had been suffering from a degenerative kidney, large kidney cyst, and spinal arthritis and under veterinary care before the decision was made to put him down, according to park spokesperson Andrew Jones.At 15-years-old, M'bari had exceeded expectations of a lion's average lifespan, which is about 10 years in the wild and can exceed 25 years in captivity, according to the zoo."In recent days, his condition had steadily worsened, despite attempts by animal care staff to modify his habitat to make him more comfortable," a statement from the zoo read. "This morning, because of his worsening quality of life, animal care staff made the difficult decision to humanely euthanize him."M'bari was introduced to locals at the San Diego Wild Animal Park in 2004 with the opening of Lion Camp when he was about two years old. He eventually moved to the San Diego Zoo in 2009, and has most recently lived with his mate, Etosha, in the Harry and Grace Steele Elephant Odyssey habitat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Neighbors in Ocean Beach and Point Loma are hoping new surveillance video will help arson investigators find whomever is responsible for a series of fires over the weekend. The video was taken from a yard near one of the fires. It shows a man walking in and out of frame then moments later, neighbors say, another fire stared. The fires all happened early Saturday morning within hours and just miles of each other. Arson investigators are calling the fires suspicious , all of them started in people's backyards. San Diego Police tell 10News they're still working to find out if the fires are related and also looking at the surveillance video to find out if the man in the video is a suspect. Detectives ask that anyone else with video, turn it over to the department. 799
