SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Lifeguards responded to two reported shark sightings off Scripps Beach Friday morning.San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials said the first report came from a surfer at the beach -- located between La Jolla Shores and Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier -- at around 10:30 a.m. As of 4 p.m., there were no additional sightings and the advisory for beachgoers had been lifted from La Jolla Shores beach.The surfer told lifeguards she was about 100 yards from the beach and within the surf line when she saw a six-foot shark “that was not acting aggressively and was heading north,” according to SDFD officials.Lifeguards patrolled the area where the share was seen but did not locate it.SDFD officials also said another surfer told lifeguards of a shark in the area that was also about six feet in length.Lifeguards at the beach are informing beachgoers of the sightings and posted warning signs on the beach.SDFD officials said no city beaches were closed.The sightings come one day after at least three sharks were seen in the waters off Torrey Pines State Beach. 1107

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police identified Friday the teenager shot and killed in Chollas Creek. Damien Anthony Feliz, 16, was found lying in the north alley of 5200 Ogden Street about 10:30 Wednesday night. A witness called 911 to report the scene. Police said Feliz had at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Residents all over San Diego County Wednesday night reported seeing mysterious lights hovering in the sky. 10News received several calls from residents throughout the county who reported seeing the lights in the western sky between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Reports came in from Blossom Valley, La Jolla, Del Mar, Chula Vista and El Cajon.10News reached out to authorities to find out what may be the source of the lights, and an official with Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado confirmed that the lights were from flares being used during training exercises. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diegans will soon have four new restaurants for dining along the San Diego Bay, as Mayor Kevin Faulconer joined Port of San Diego officials and The Brigantine Inc. for the ribbon cutting ceremony Monday for Portside Pier. Portside Pier is an over-the-water dining complex that has been years in the making. It will have four restaurants -- Brigantine on the Bay, Miguel's Cocina, Ketch Grill & Taps and Portside Coffee & Gelato. The dining complex replaced Anthony's Fish Grotto, a staple for 52 years along the bay. The dining complex is now owned by The Brigantine Inc. The restaurants are opening amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The design of the restaurants have plenty of outdoor space to seat about 500 people, with all social distancing guidelines in place. The complex has capacity for about 1,000 people, once pandemic restrictions are lifted. Portside Pier is the first of several projects along the waterfront, to improve and update the embarcadero. The coffee and gelato bar are already open. The other restaurants officially open on July 28. 1090
