SAN DIEGO — Two of San Diego's biggest restaurant groups are sounding the alarm over state Coronavirus regulations.Owners of the Brigantine Family of Restuarants and the Cohn Restaurant Group say indoor capacity limits aren't sustainable. (KGTV) -- The California Assembly has voted to ban the manufacture and sale of new fur products.Animal welfare groups have rallied around the bill, arguing the fur industry is inhumane and pointing to alternatives like faux fur.But opponents of the bill have countered that the proposed law would devastate fur retailers and manufacturers.Some California cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Berkeley, have already passed ordinances banning the sale of fur.The New York City council has also considered banning fur sales in America's biggest city.The bill would not include used fur products or furs used for traditional purposes. Leather, cowhide and shearling would be exempt, too.The measure, Assembly Bill 44, now goes to the state Senate. 782

San Diegans who recently saw Hamilton at the Civic Theater downtown, or had any business at City Hall may have parked in the massive garage that's just steps from both buildings.The city owns that 1,140-space parking garage, called the Evan Jones Parkade - for the founder of Ace Parking.Many city workers also use it daily, since they get an employee discount. But the garage has also become a source of frustration among them - and in some cases, much worse. Numerous city employees told 10News that the elevators often breakdown, especially when it rains. That forces some of them to walk up 10 flights of stairs after a day's work - instead of waiting longer for the elevators that are working.But a notice posted on the city's website paints a much darker picture. It says the city has responded to more than 200 calls for service for the elevators in the last year, and that breakdowns have increased 20 percent in the last six months. "The elevators have now become unsafe," the notice says. "There is the increased possibility of persons being trapped in a broken-down elevator, needing immediate medical attention and not being able to get it."Additionally, the permit posted in one elevator is two years expired."I'm going to zip up there and hopefully everything wil work out fine," said Andy Jones, of Scripps Ranch, who parked on the 10th floor in a visit to City Hall. "That's a lot of stairs to climb."City spokeswoman Nicole Darling said the elevators are safe and routinely inspected. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 16-year-old girl and 11 women were recovered during a two-day human trafficking operation in San Diego County that also resulted in the arrests of five men and a woman on a variety of charges, authorities announced."Operation Home for the Holidays" was conducted Monday and Tuesday and aimed at recovering juvenile victims and involved detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department working undercover as sex buyers looking for online ads of suspected juveniles, according to a statement from the department.Child Welfare Services and a juvenile advocate assisted with the recovery of the teenager and the women were offered resources, the statement said.Deputies arrested five men for suspected prostitution-related violations, including one who was in possession of a gun at the time of his arrest. A woman was arrested for trafficking of a minor, the department said. It was unclear if the minor recovered was the one being trafficked by the woman."I'm proud of the great work being done by the San Diego County Human Trafficking Task Force," Sheriff Bill Gore said.
