British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, during his China visit last month, promised that Britain will work with China to make AIIB a professional, responsible, transparent and effective financing platform.
The 69-member delegation will attend a grand celebration on Oct. 1.
"We are ready to strengthen our cooperation with the U.S. side on this issue," Xi said.
"China and the United States have already pledged to cooperate on anti-corruption and have agreed to a new mechanism to facilitate the repatriation of corrupt fugitives," he noted.
The two sides agreed to maintain high-level exchanges and enhance communication and cooperation on such issues as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, international economic and financial governance, climate change and peacekeeping, according to the statement.
