Actor Stoney Westmoreland has been dropped from his recurring role on the Disney Channel show "Andi Mack" after being arrested by police in Salt Lake City, according to a Disney Channel statement.A probable cause affidavit states Westmoreland, 48, used a dating app to chat with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old boy. The affidavit goes on to state the actor used the app to send explicit pictures and to arrange a meeting for sex.When Westmoreland arrived at the arranged spot, he was arrested by Salt Lake City Police and members of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. Salt Lake City Police records show Westmoreland was arrested last week for attempting to entice, seduce or lure a minor by internet or text and is facing four counts of dealing in materials harmful to minors."Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week," said the Disney Channel statement.CNN was unable to reach Westmoreland for comment Sunday or determine whether he has retained an attorney.Westmoreland had appeared in 38 episodes of "Andi Mack" as Ham Mack, the main character's grandfather. The show, entering its third season, is a coming-of-age comedy-drama following the middle-school adventures of a 13-year-old girl and her friends. Actress Katherine "Scottie" MacGregor, who played Harriet Oleson on "Little House on the Prairie," died on Tuesday at age 93 in Woodland Hills, Calif., a representative confirmed to NBC News. MacGregor was credited in 153 of Little House on the Prairie's 203 episodes. The show portrayed a family living on a Minnesota farm. MacGregor's Oleson was the general store owner's wife, and she played a character who had a bit of sass. When the show ended in 1983, MacGregor largely stepped away from acting after a three-decade career in the field. MacGregor's co-star on Little House on the Prairie Melissa Gilbert saluted MacGregor with an Instagram post on Wednesday. "She was outspoken and hilariously funny," Gilbert wrote. "A truly gifted actress as she was able to play a despicable character but with so much heart. Her Harriet Oleson was the woman our fans loved to hate. A perfect antagonist. After dozens of puppies were found in rural Pottawattamie County, Iowa with no food and water before being rescued Sunday, authorities ramped up their investigation into Young Gunz Kennel.They obtained a search warrant and confiscated items for several hours Tuesday.Sheriff deputies and animal control personnel hauled away a large number of kennels that were at the unlicensed facility, which was used for obedience and hunting training, as well as dog breeding. Investigators could also be seen snapping photos and collecting additional evidence that they could find at the site, which housed as many as 50 dogs before many of them were found inside their kennels severely malnourished. A total of four dogs have now been found dead, and 10 are missing.Copper was one of the dogs that was rescued on Sunday. When his owner Wil Beach picked him up, Copper had lost 20 pounds and was covered in feces. "He was very scared but still in high spirits, he was the same dog emotionally when I got him (back) than when I dropped him off,” says Beach.Beach says he took Copper and a 0 check to owner Dustin Young in January after high praises from friends. He says he did not suspect anything amiss when he made the drop-off. "When I was there it was neat and clean and organized and he was very talkative and he just seemed like he had a passion for dogs," says Beach.Beach is thankful that his two-year old pup is okay, with no major issues from the abandonment.  1500

ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) - The Alpine Union School District reporting its first positive COVID-19 case since in-person learning began a month ago.Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, staff at Boulder Oaks Elementary received a call from a parent."Heard from a parent their child was in fact positive for COVID-19," said District superintendent Rich Newman.Newman says immediately, contact tracing protocols kicked in. The student was part of a hybrid-learning group, and Thursday was a distance learning day. Within an hour, school and school district officials had mapped out the student's contacts since Monday."We were able to trace the student from the classroom seat to the restroom they used, to their seat at lunch, to the health office -- their path on campus," said Newman.The final tally: 10 students, a teacher and a support staffer who had been within six feet and spent 15 minutes or more with the student. An hour later, the school was providing the list of contacts to county health officials, while staff began calling the impacted parents and students. Electrostatic cleaning was done in affected locations. Newman says the contact tracing was effective because of extensive planning. Students are asked to stick close to their classroom grouping throughout the day."We were able to track their day because we've assigned locations for lunch, we've assigned restrooms to use. We know when they went to health office and which areas they went for outside breaks," said Newman.Once the tracing was complete, the impacted students and staff were asked to quarantine at home for 14 days and switch to distance learning. The affected staff were given COVID-19 tests.Newman believes the breadth of their COVID-19 measures will make a big difference."We hope these protocols will ensure, when these cases happen, we will stay open for in-person learning," said Newman.Boulder Oaks Elementary has about 500 students and 50 staff. The school district offers drive-thru COVID-19 testing for its staff every two weeks. 2027
