A 3-year-old boy and his 1-year-old brother were on their own -- possibly for days -- after surviving a single-vehicle crash that killed their mother in south Arkansas.The older of the two boys was found Monday morning after authorities received a 911 call about a boy who was seen walking by himself in a rural area on a state highway near Camden, Arkansas, Ouachita County Detective Nathan Greeley told CNN.The boy was covered in cuts and scrapes and appeared to have been outside for an extended period, Greeley said."You could tell he was extremely traumatized," Greeley said.Officials gave the boy a bath, food and a change of clothes and distributed a description of him. A family member contacted the sheriff's office and told authorities that the boy's 1-year-old brother was likely nearby, Greeley said. (KGTV) A same-sex couple says a staffer from a private school in Solana Beach told them to not submit their son’s application.Matthew Bosse and Joe Mosca are looking at middle schools for their 10-year-old son.They say Garrett earns exceptional grades and is as much a musician as he is a lacrosse player so several friends referred them to Santa Fe Christian Schools in Solana Beach.Bosse says during a phone call he told the SFCS staff member that he was married to a man.“That’s when she essentially said the values that are taught at the home are the values that are taught at school and we don’t think your family would be a good match,” said Bosse.The family regularly attends an Episcopalian church and says they’re a same-sex couple with Christian values.“You never expect to encounter such over discrimination,” said Mosca, who is also the Deputy Mayor of Encinitas.Since Santa Fe Christian Schools is private and receives no public funding, it does not have to follow state or federal anti-discrimination laws.In a statement to 10News SFCS wrote:"While we do not provide details on matters involving students or prospective students, I can say that our policy is to encourage the family of any student committed to academic excellence and spiritual development to apply. Operation Excellence: DMV Training will “equip employees with the tools they need to handle an unprecedented volume of REAL ID applications,” said DMV officials. Californians will be required to show a REAL ID-compliant license or identification card, or passport, to fly in the U.S. starting Oct. 1, 2020. "We have evacuated [sic] our headquarters building as a safety [sic] precaution, and law enforcement is presently addressing the situation."According to the Sacramento Bee, a manila envelope addressed to Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez was received by the CA DNP's downtown Sacramento headquarters.The envelope was delivered around 11 a.m. with the day's mail and staff placed it outside and called police as soon as they noticed it, the Bee reported. 834
