SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) - James Schwab, a spokesman for the San Francisco Division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has resigned, citing what he says are falsehoods being spread by members of the Trump administration including Attorney General Jeff Sessions."I just couldn't bear the burden -- continuing on as a representative of the agency and charged with upholding integrity, knowing that information was false," he told CNN on Monday.Schwab cited Acting Director Tom Homan and Attorney General Jeff Sessions as being the purveyors of misleading and inaccurate information, following Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's controversial decision to warn the community of an upcoming ICE raid.ICE released a press release on February 27 about the operations in Northern California in which Homan stated that "864 criminal aliens and public safety threats remain at large in the community, and I have to believe that some of them were able to elude us thanks to the mayor's irresponsible decision."Sessions also repeated a similar estimate in his remarks while visiting Sacramento last week."Those are 800 wanted criminals that are now at large in that community -- 800 wanted criminals that ICE will now have to pursue with more difficulty in more dangerous situations, all because of one mayor's irresponsible action," Sessions had said.Schwab said he took issue with their characterization."Director Homan and the Attorney General said there were 800 people at large and free to roam because of the actions of the Oakland Mayor," he told CNN. "Personally I think her actions were misguided and not responsible. I think she could have had other options. But to blame her for 800 dangerous people out there is just false.""It's a false statement because we never pick up 100% of our targets. And to say they're a type of dangerous criminal is also misleading."Schwab said he brought up his concerns to ICE leadership and was told to "deflect to previous statements. Even though those previous statements did not clarify the wrong information.""I've never been in this situation in 16 almost 17 years in government where someone asked me to deflect when we absolutely knew something was awry -- when the data was not correct" he said.The Oakland mayor said in response to the former spokesman speaking out, "I commend Mr. Schwab for speaking the truth while under intense pressure to lie. (KGTV) — For more than 20 years, Casey Rummerfield has been the toast of Halloween in his San Marcos neighborhood.Hours spent throughout the year on handmade electronic displays, decorations, and more turn his Shadow Hills Drive home into a memorable tradition for his neighbors, family, and friends."It's more hours than it is money. The cannon prop is home built," Rummerfield says, pointing to various props, barrels, and displays he has built by hand. Scott Thompson never thought making other people smile would be so much fun.“I never thought it would be awesome for myself too. You know, I didn’t know that I would be as happy it as I am," Thompson said.But it’s never too late for an old farmer to learn a new trick.“We started out with a small field, about three or four acres,” he said. Scott and his wife own Thompson Strawberry Farm in Wisconsin, normally a pick-it-yourself berry farm. But because of COVID-19, they decided to plant a field of sunflowers so people could come get out of the house, enjoy the sunflower fields and smile.“People are going to need a release. People are going to need a place to go and we’re just fortunate that we have that opportunity to give it to somebody,” said Thompson.But one field turned into another.“Then we put in three or four more fields,” said Thompson.Turned into 2.2 million sunflowers.“It just kind of added up and kept going and kept going so I just kept planting,” said Thompson.The sunflowers are helping people get out of the house during the pandemic“We just wanted some sunshine in corona, it’s an easy activity to do that’s not in doors,” said Kate Kronstein, who was visiting the field with her mom. “Road trip. Can’t do anything else these days!” said John Poquette, up from Chicago.People have been coming from mostly Illinois, but all over the Midwest to come snip some sunflowers and take a bright bouquet from the farm.It’s per car to get in, and that comes with a dozen pick-em-yourself sunflowers. But Scott says you can do more than just pick sunflowers while you’re here.“Everybody just seems like they have their little niche of what they want to do. I bet we’ve had five or six different proposals, we’ve had wedding photographers, we’ve had senior pictures, family pictures, so we’re really just trying to spread that fun for everyone,” said Thompson.And when you leave, they want you to take two things with you: some sunflowers and a smile.“It made me happy, and it just gave me a reminder that there’s still sunshine out there, even with everything going on,” said Kronstein smiling as she got ready to leave. 2149

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A fast-moving fire broke out in the mountains near Santa Barbara late Monday afternoon. According to KEYT, the blaze, named the Cave Fire, sparked around 4:15 p.m. along Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo. By 5 p.m., the fire had burned 15 acres. That number quickly grew to 2,500 acres by 7:54 p.m., The Tribune reports.
