A school bus driver was arrested after she overdosed while driving and crashed into a tree, Newark police said.The driver, Lisa Byrd, was transporting a dozen students from 14th Avenue School in Newark when the vehicle crashed into a tree on Wednesday, officials said in a statement.When first responders arrived, police said they revived the 57-year-old woman with Narcan -- a drug that instantly reverses the effects of overdose from heroin and other opioids.The students, ages 5 to 13, were not injured, police said.Byrd, who was taken to a local hospital, is facing 12 charges of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.It was not immediately clear whether Byrd has an attorney."Endangering the lives of Newark children is something we will not tolerate," said Newark Mayor Ras J. After years of looking for greener alternatives to its paper cup — which is lined with plastic — Starbucks is testing out something new.The company announced on Wednesday that it is testing out a compostable cup in five locations — New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and London. Starbucks showed one of the cups being tested during its annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday.The new cup looks just like Starbucks' current paper cup. The difference is inside, where instead of a plastic liner, a biodegradable liner serves as a barrier to make sure liquid doesn't leak out. It's also known as "interstellar space." Deep space is a mystery to a lot of scientists. NASA's Voyager spacecraft that was launched in 2011 reached the edge of our solar system.Many scientists are wanting to make their way past Jupiter to learn even more, but there are limitations in the space engine technology today. A company called Roccor, based in Longmont, Colorado, is doing their best to change that.“We are just getting in a contract with NASA to do solar sailing where we are going to leave earths orbital realm and go much farther away,” said Bruce Davis, who works for Roccor.Davis and his team are working on a project called the "solar cruiser."They created what’s called a "solar sail." It essentially gets attached to a spacecraft and acts as a propeller, ultimately upping its performance by pushing it farther into deep space.“We are capturing whatever is coming off the sun — that’s radiation, that’s photons — we call it a collective pressure," Davis said. "That’s what we are trying to grab to give ourselves propulsion.”When the sail opens up, it’s as big as an office building. An Amazon delivery driver was fired and arrested after police say she stole a dachshund from in front of a Texas couple's home and attempted to sell it online.The suspect, 22-year-old Mycah Keyona Wade, was in a Weatherford neighborhood on July 5 making deliveries as a contract driver for Amazon when she spotted the dog, Parker County Sheriff's Office Deputy Danie Huffman said.The dachshund, a 2-year-old named "RJ," had darted out of his home as his owners opened the door to go to the grocery store and ran across the front yard, Huffman said.Wade snatched the dog from the street in front of the home, Huffman said. A landscaper who reported having a conversation with the suspect about the dog and private security footage from the neighborhood helped police identify Wade.After a warrant was issued for her arrest, she turned herself in and initially denied she'd taken the dog.She later turned RJ over to investigators, who returned the dog to its original owners."This does not reflect the high standards we have for delivery service partners. We're glad the customer has been reunited with their pet, and we have been in touch with them to make it right. We take these matters seriously and these individuals are no longer delivering Amazon packages," Amazon said in a statement to CNN.Wade told police she asked landscapers where the dog came from but they were unable to tell her.
