After a brief flirtation with resurrection, Nickelodeon's "Double Dare" is back -- for real, this time. The game show favorite will return to the network this summer to give "a new generation of kids the chance to compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives," Nickelodeon announced Wednesday. The decision to bring the series back comes about a year and a half after Nickelodeon paid tribute to the game show with a 30th Anniversary special."Double Dare" ran on Nickelodeon from 1986-93 and was revived for brief run in 2000.The original show was hosted by Marc Summers and co-hosted by Robin Marella. It is not yet known who will host the new iteration. Though, Nickelodeon said the revived series "will feature appearances from blasts from the past, long-time 'Double Dare' fans and stars from today."On "Double Dare," two teams compete against each other for prizes by answering trivia questions and completing some often-messy physical challenges, all culminating in a run of the show's kid-friendly obstacle course. Actor, writer and media producer Tyler Perry has offered to pay for the funeral for Rayshard Brooks, the man who was killed during an altercation with police in Atlanta on Friday.Attorney L. Chris Stewart, who is representing Brooks' family, said during a press conference on Monday that Perry had offered to pay for funeral arrangements."We want to acknowledge and thank Tyler Perry, who we spoke with, who will be taking care of the funeral for the family," Stewart said. "And it's support like that and it's people who are actually in this community, that love the community, that want healing and families like this to never have to go through something like this. It's a step forward and we want to thank him for such a generous move."Perry has been known to provide funeral services for others in the past. According to ABC News, he paid for the funeral services for two 15-month-old twin sisters who died after they left in a hot car in Georgia in 2016. In 2019, he reportedly paid for the funeral of a single mother of four children from Milwaukee.Earlier this month, boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. paid for the funeral services for George Floyd, who died in Minneapolis police custody. Brooks was killed on Friday when police attempted to take him into custody for DUI. A struggle ensued, and Brooks stole an officer's stun gun and tried to flee the scene. Officer Garrett Rolfe shot Brooks in the back twice, and Brooks later died in surgery at a local hospital. Rolfe has since been fired from the Atlanta Police Department, and a medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide. 1595

A wide array of House and Senate Republicans are not yet ready to endorse President Donald Trump's bid for a second term, a reflection of the deep uncertainty on Capitol Hill over his political standing amid growing problems at home and abroad. In interviews with a cross-section of more than two dozen GOP lawmakers, ranging from rank-and-file members, conservatives and party leaders, many refused to say they'd back Trump's re-election bid -- a surprise declaration given that members of Congress are typically quick to endorse sitting presidents of their own party without hesitation. Hardly any would offer a categorical endorsement of the President."I don't know what the world is going to look like," said Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, a Texas Republican, when asked if he'd endorse Trump for re-election. "But let's say it's not something I've given any thought to."Asked several days later if he had given thought to it, Cornyn demurred."I haven't even thought about that election," said Cornyn, No. 2 in the Senate GOP conference. "I'm worried about the midterm election."He's not alone. Many lawmakers sought to avoid the topic altogether."Look, I'm focused on opioids," said Sen. Lamar Alexander, the veteran Republican from Tennessee, referring to efforts in Congress to deal with the drug epidemic. "And I was just reelected myself three years ago. So, I'm focused on that."And others said they were still uncertain the President would ultimately stand for re-election -- even though the White House and Trump himself have repeatedly said he would do so, as he's hired a campaign manager, has been raising money and holding campaign rallies in anticipation of 2020. Unlike past presidents who have waited to announce their reelection bids, Trump made clear immediately after taking office that he's running again.Still, many Republicans aren't certain he'll do it."That's a little loaded," said Rep. Bill Huizenga of Michigan when asked if he'd support Trump for re-election. "One: we need to make sure that he's actually moving forward and wants to go after this -- so when he makes a declaration, then I think that would be a time to determine whether there are others (who) run or not."The comments highlight the continuing uneasiness many Republicans have over Trump's presidency, and the lingering questions about how the multiple legal battles the President is facing -- from the allegations of hush money to silence an alleged affair with the porn actress Stormy Daniels, the raid of his personal attorney Michael Cohen's properties and special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation -- will eventually shake out. And they also contradict Trump's oft-stated contention that the party has "never" been more united.White House officials did not provide a comment for this story. Trump, however, may have little concern about whether his party in Washington is fully behind him. Few lawmakers backed his primary bid in 2016, and many abandoned him in the general election after the now-infamous "Access Hollywood" tape emerged showing him talking crudely about groping women.Come 2020, things may be no different. The conservative South Carolina Rep. Mark Sanford, when asked about backing Trump's re-election bid, said: "I'm worried about my own race right now."And the moderate Adam Kinzinger of Illinois had a similar refrain."That's 2020 -- pretty far away," he said when asked if he'd back Trump for re-election.  3458

A woman in Pennsylvania cannot keep a winning lottery ticket worth more than million, a judge ruled, because of how she acquired the ticket. The case came down to how the Acme store, where Beverlie Seltzer works just outside of Philadelphia, handles lottery tickets that are printed by mistake on the automated terminal put in place by the state’s Lottery Commission. The judge noted the protocol is that the store must pay the commission for each mistake ticket, but the store can keep any winnings from those tickets. In the trial court’s summary says Seltzer began scanning the mistake tickets during her shift, shortly after the Match 6 drawing. She typically would discard losing tickets and leave winning tickets for the office coordinator to process.“As she scanned through them, she discovered that one of the mistake tickets was a winning ticket, in the amount of ,150,000.00. At this point, after learning the ticket was a winner, [instead of leaving the ticket for the coordinator to process the next day,] [Ms.] Seltzer took .00 in cash out of her purse, rang up her own transaction, and put the .00 in the register in an attempt to purchase the ticket. She was still on the clock at the time,” the court summary reads.Seltzer then reportedly told coworkers and her supervisor she won the lottery, “though claiming that she could not remember the time when she purchased the ticket.”Acme supervisors learned what happened after reviewing security tapes. When she was confronted, Seltzer denied it and contacted the lottery to claim the reward. Acme filed suit to determine the owner of the ticket.“When Ms. Seltzer in this instance deviated from the Acme procedures that she usually followed, she acted surreptitiously and was not forthcoming about the circumstances of the purchase,” the judge wrote. “Even viewing the evidence in the light most favorable to Ms. Seltzer, no reasonable fact-finder could conclude that Ms. Seltzer acted with the good faith belief that she was permitted by law or by Acme’s policies to give Acme in exchange for ,150,000. "The Acme store will now be entitled to the .15 million winnings. 2156
