SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — This isn't the first time the idea of an aerial tram in San Diego has been floated around. But it is the first time the idea of one from the airport has been raised.A feasibility study, completed by engineering firm WSP USA, proposed a "skyway" to connect San Diego International Airport to the convention center could be built with current aerial cableway technology.The study suggests the aerial cableway "has the potential to enhance mobility within the study area." The transit system could include intermediate stations at Santa Fe Depot, Seaport Village, the Embarcadero, and in the Marina District.Riders would also be able to connect to MTS, Coaster, and Amtrak stations, the study says.The skyway would cost about 0 million to 0 million to construct and about million to million to operate every year, the study says.The study adds the skyway could make 1.1 million and 1.6 million trips a year, or about 3,600 to 4,900 trips a day. The event is also expected to produce about five meteors per hour, but the shower is famous for its slow-moving and bright meteors.The next week, the Leonid meteor shower will peak on Nov. 16-17. That shower is expected to produce 15 to 20 meteors per hour. NASA says the Leonid shower happens every November and features some of the fastest moving meteors out there, traveling at about 44 miles per second.Stargazers are encouraged to get the best viewing of the meteor shower by finding an area away from lights and laying flat, with feet facing east, to take in as much sky as possible, according to NASA. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Sheriff's Department released several videos of a deadly shooting that occurred after a pursuit ended in Chula Vista.The shooting took place after a pursuit that started in Orange County around midnight on Oct. 4. The suspect of the chase, identified as Christopher Ulmer, 33, of Whitter, Calif., led officers to Chula Vista, where authorities stopped his vehicle using a pit maneuver on I-805 south near Orange Avenue at about 1 a.m.Police say Ulmer exited his vehicle and pointed his arm at officers who believed he was holding a firearm, prompting officers to fire their service weapons. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The public is invited to the inaugural Christmas tree lighting ceremony Saturday at the new Legacy International Center in Mission Valley.Dozens of workers made their last-minute touches Friday ahead of the center's tree lighting, which plans to pull out all the holiday stops."We'll have Christmas caroling out there, and Santa will be out there. Just social fun," Jim Penner, executive director of the center, said. Penner said Saturday's event is the first of a three-phase opening for the nearly 0-million hotel, theater, and attraction center opening next year. The center is the brain-child of San Diego-based televangelist Morris Cerullo, who made his fortune as a popular televangelist in the 1980s and 1990s."He [Cerullo] wanted people around the world to be able to experience the people that he got to know through his 70 years of travel to 95 nations in the world," Penner said. Penner told 10News the center was initially supposed to be a small ministry training center and possibly a dormitory.
