SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than 2,000 people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer started the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk in San Diego Friday.One year ago, Leslie Heiser got the news she never expected to hear: she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of treatment, doctors have declared her cancer-free. What started as simple motivation to get through tough days turned into what she believes will be a life-changing experience.The walkers participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event will cover 60 miles in three days. All are doing it for different reasons: some walking in memory of loved ones, others showing support for those battling cancer. And my biggest cheerleader from treatment to surgery. Those moments when you really need someone you can depend on, rely on, my rock," said Heiser.Each participant raised more than ,000 to do the walk. Giving all those involved a sense of camaraderie as they flood the streets of San Diego with signs of pink while sending positive vibes to those who see them.Heiser adds, “it’s really about the experience of sharing it with other survivors and other people who have been impacted by breast cancer. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- People on social media are outraged after video shows a security guard questioning a mother's immigration status in a Target parking lot. The woman who recorded and posted the video, Sonia Serrano Zavala, says the guard was asking the mother if she is here legally when she started recording. The unidentified security guard can be heard in the video saying, "You’re illegally here and you’re having babies and you’re probably on welfare."The woman, seen holding a baby in the parking lot, was reportedly asking for money. Midway through the video, the security guard says "it's a scam" and claims the woman has a car and a condo.The incident took place at a Target located in the Marketplace at the Grove Shopping Center. The guard does not work specifically for Target, but provides security for the entire shopping center. The company who hires the security guards for the mall said, "The behavior of this employee is not reflective of the standards we have set for our security professionals, and we will address it."WARNING: The video below contains graphic language.  1136

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating the death of a man who was found with stab wounds in a gas station parking lot in Webster.San Diego police said they received a 911 call just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday regarding a possible stabbing victim in the 4300 block of Home Avenue.Officers arrived to find a 31-year-old Black man with “apparent trauma to his upper torso,” according to SDPD officials.The victim was eventually taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, but he later died from his injuries. His name was not released.SDPD Homicide Unit investigators learned the stabbing occurred in an area of the 4600 block of Home Avenue, and the victim was able to drive himself to the parking lot of an Arco ampm gas station, where he was found.Police said the only information available regarding the suspected attacker is a Black male wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt.Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the SDPD Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 1015

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in San Diego’s Linda Vista neighborhood Thursday afternoon. According to police, a 17-year-old boy was walking with a 16-year-old girl near the 6900 block of Linda Vista Road around 12:30 p.m. Police say a silver sedan pulled up beside the pair and someone inside shot the 17-year-old in the stomach. The teen suffered minor injuries, according to police, who said he was uncooperative.Police say, during the shooting, the teens ducked behind a car in the area. The vehicle was heavily damaged. San Diego Police say officers searched a neighborhood near Tecolote Canyon for the suspect. Witnesses stated they saw five men driving away in a gray or light colored vehicle. 750

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are searching for two men suspected in a downtown San Diego shooting spree that left five people injured Monday night.According to San Diego police, the gunfire was reported just after 11 p.m. at several locations in the East Village neighborhood, about three blocks east of Petco Park's tailgate parking lot.The shooting happened not long after the San Diego Padres wrapped up their game against the Washington Nationals at Petco Park.Police said four people were in the 500 block of 15th Street, near Island Avenue, when two men dressed in dark clothing approached the group and opened fire.Moments later, and several blocks from the initial shooting scene, a fifth person was shot in the 1800 block of Island Avenue.All five shooting victims suffered what were considered to be non-life threatening injuries, according to police.Police said the suspected shooters were described as black men between 19-25 years old and 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall. The men were last seen fleeing westbound from the area.A witness in the area told 10News that he heard about a dozen gunshots coming from different locations and two vehicles speeding from the scene. Police did not confirm if they were searching for vehicles as part of the investigation.Police are looking into the possibility the shooting was gang-related.Mayor Kevin Faulconer released the a statement Tuesday afternoon on the shooting.
