(KGTV) -- A mother of three shown in a video being detained by Customs and Border Protection agents was released Tuesday on her own recognizance.Shortly after 9 p.m. Perla Morales-Luna and her daughters shared a tearful reunion. A judge said that Morales-Luna, 36, isn’t a danger to society or a flight risk. During the family's reunion, she did say "Thank you" to the press but had no further comment. The video showing Luna’s detention made rounds on social media earlier in March. Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has signed a landmark bill that retires the last state flag bearing the Confederate battle emblem. The Republican governor signed the bill Tuesday afternoon, just two days after legislators passed it. Amid international protests over racial injustice, Mississippi was under increasing pressure to lose a symbol that many see as racist. The state had used the flag since 1894. Mississippi will not have a flag for a while. A commission will design a new one that cannot have the Confederate symbol and must have the phrase, “In God We Trust.” Voters will be asked to approve the new design.The Confederate battle flag is losing its place of official prominence in the South 155 years after the end of the Civil War. Mississippi’s Republican-controlled Legislature voted Sunday to remove the Confederate emblem from the state flag. Other states took action previously. NASCAR, meanwhile, has banned the rebel banner from its car races. The flag with the familiar X design is still visible along Southern highways and in some stores. MINNEAPOLIS — Police say a man captured on surveillance video breaking windows at a south Minneapolis auto parts store in the days after George Floyd’s death is a Hell’s Angels member who was bent on stirring up social unrest.The man, seen in all black and carrying an umbrella, was dubbed “Umbrella Man” by many on social media.The video showed the man breaking windows at an Auto Zone near where Floyd died. Police say up until that point, the protests in the area had been peaceful.Soon after the windows were broken, the Auto Zone was set on fire — the first of several buildings in the area that were burned during riots. MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — The parents of a 9-year-old Milwaukee girl shot and killed by her brother over the weekend have been criminally charged.Marcel Antonio Jelks, 32, and Talisha Lee, 29 both faces charges. Jelks has been charged with child neglect resulting in death and possession of a firearm by a felon. Lee has been charged with child neglect resulting in death, and furnishing a firearm to a felon.According to Milwaukee Police's preliminary investigation, Miyanna was accidentally shot by her brother — who is a minor — in their home in the 4500 block of North 38th Street just after noon on Saturday. She was brought to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police say the brother was been taken to the Milwaukee County Children's Court Center. "She was a beautiful, young girl. She was smart, intelligent. She was just 9 years old," said Jay Jones, a family friend.Jones said seven children live in the house with their mom and dad and he doesn't believe the father knew their was a gun inside the house."They are not the type of people to put their kids in no type of danger or anything like that," he said.If convicted, Lee faces 25 years in prison. Jelks could be sentenced to an additional 10 years due to his criminal history. 1305
