Anthony’s headstone will see something new this year: a plastic cover.Her headstone, in a cemetery in Rochester, New York, now has a shield to prevent further degradation to the marble from the stickers’ glue and the cleaners used to remove the stickers.The sticker trend became popular on Election Day 2016, when as many as 12,000 people visited the cemetery where Anthony is buried.A spring restoration effort had revealed the damage done to the marble marker.This year, WHAM reports that city officials have also marked off a pathway for visitor to follow so they don’t disrupt other gravesites. Russian President Vladimir Putin boasted Thursday of new weaponry that will render NATO defenses "completely useless" -- and delivered a warning to the world about Russia's resurgent military might.In an annual address to the Russian parliament, the Kremlin leader said Russia had developed a new, nuclear-capable cruise missile with "unlimited" range that is capable of eluding air-defense systems.He also said Russia had developed an "invincible" missile that can deliver a warhead at hypersonic speed.Putin is running for reelection in mid-March on a platform that emphasizes his strength as a leader. And Thursday's speech was an occasion for the Russian President to showcase his country's strides in military technology."Russia still has the greatest nuclear potential in the world, but nobody listened to us," he said. Putin said the missile would be nuclear-powered and showed a video simulating its flight."Since the range is unlimited, it can maneuver as much as necessary," Putin said.Another military development, Putin said, was a weapon capable of flying "like a meteorite" at several times the speed of sound."It will be practically invulnerable," he said. SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — While California is seeing a slowdown in the spread of the coronavirus and counties are starting to fall off a state monitoring list for infections, Gov. Gavin Newsom says rules are not yet ready for businesses in those areas to reopen. Santa Cruz, San Diego and Placer counties recently came off the list and Newsom said Wednesday San Francisco will likely soon follow. He says counties can expect more details next week on what will be required for businesses like indoor gyms and salons to reopen in areas that fall off the monitoring list. (AP) — California has launched a state-sponsored retirement plan targeting employers who don't have options for their workers.It's part of a state law requiring companies with at least five California-based employees to offer a retirement plan. As many as 300,000 businesses must comply by 2022.One option is CalSavers, which launched July 1. Companies who sign up for the plan would supply a list of their employees. CalSavers would automatically enroll them and then employers would deduct 5% from their paychecks into a retirement account. Workers can opt out of the plan or choose a different savings rate.California Treasurer Fiona Ma says the program will help people "retire with dignity."A recent study by the University of California-Berkeley says half of the state's private sector workers have no retirement assets. 853
